CHIDINMA OLU
The Centre for Anti – Corruption and
Open Leadership (ACACOL) has presented Lagos Open parliament 5 to the general
public recently at Right House Adeniyi Jone, Ikeja, Lagos. The Lagos Open
Parliament 5 is an enduring foot print of uncommon analysis of the media on
budgetary implementation for infrastructure development of Lagos State (March
2018 to February 2019).
In
presenting Lagos Open Parliament 5 to the general public the Executive Chairman
of CACOL Comrade Debo Adeniran did welcome all and sundry to the ceremony
adding that the presentation of Lagos Open Parliament (LOP 5) which as the
title suggested is the fifth in its series as well as the works touched on the
public stand during the last lap of the previous administration of former
governor Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) in 2007 / 2015, and again the third
in its series under the present administration of governor Mr. Akinwunmi Dapo
Ambode which was pleasantly titled, “An Enduring Legacy while the previous
edition had been named, “The change we see, and Hitting A Desirable paradigm in
their sequential style.
Speaking to the
gathering in his words the Executive Chairman of CACOL Adeniran (As we always
position in each and everyone these publications, CACOL as an Anti – Corruption
and Open Leadership Organisation has only provide a fertile ground for the
general populace in whose behalf power must and ought to be judiciously and
expeditiously exercised).
Speaking
further to the audience the executive chairman of the CACOL Comrade Adeniran
says that it is their organizational responsibilities to simply provide the
Analysis of the Public Assessment of and Media Contents on the State Budgetary
Implementation on Infrastructural Development in Lagos State within a
particular windw adding that CACOL simple provided the mirror through which
successive governments in Lagos state could heavily assess its performance in
relations to its electoral campaign promises to the down trodden masses by
different appraisal mechanisms like Vox pop, Media clips et’al.
The book was
reviewed by the Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Lagos State University LASU,
Ojo, Lagos State Prof. Sylvester Odion A khaine, but he was pleasantly
represented by Kenneth Akali, and again, Akali did not disappoint the audience
with his cerebral of his book review which largely touched on the
administration of Ambode on topical issues on Transport, Security, Education,
Agriculture, Job creation, Urban developments, Health Care delivery Services.
Akali largely touched on that Lagos State is growing in leaves and bounds
adding that there are new bus stops properly constructed with heavy
architectural master pieces. Akali again said that the Airport roads project of
10 lanes has been recently commissioned by Presient Muhammadu Buhari which
Akali says that it has brought a big relief to all road users and Lagosians.
Generally
speaking CACOL has through the Lagos Open Parliament 5 has heavily appreciated
the performance of Governor Ambode an CACOL also took a had swipe on the Ambode
administration where the policies were not having human faces like Badagry
express way and rail light would have added value to the lives of all and
sundry.
