Speaking
as the chairman of the Local Organising Committee of the Golden Jubilee
celebrations of Victory High School and Victory College at the main School Hall
Pastor Johnson Uche Ezeagu said that he is really appreciative to God Almighty
Father who has been the bedrock of the educational institution that kicked off
in the year 1969 adding that he is also full of appreciation for the founder Chief
(Dr.) Christian Ipoola Olaniyan who as a young man then did not amass wealth to
himself rather he saw the bright future thereby he courageously ventured into
setting up the educational institution
for the purposes of raising future leaders. 
Speaking further to the old
students Pastor Ezeagu said that their school was the third sought school in
the entire breath and length Lagos after Kings College and CSM Grammar School
adding that their parents did not make mistakes when they brought them to
Victory schools. Speaking again he said that he actually appreciated all the
members of LOC and all those who had pleasantly supported the noble cause of
celebrating Victory @ 50 with finances and all that. Speaking with journalists
he outlined the details of activities for their golden jubilee celebration for the
mass audience as follows:

All the
conference speakers are Victorians Professors,
Speaking
on the theme of their golden jubilee which is Contribution of Private Education
in Nigeria adding that the speakers would be speaking from their diverse field
of professions and experiences.
He said that day five Tuesday October 1st
2019 would be Independent day match pass by the 47 graduated sets of the school
which he pleasantly disclosed had graduated 22, 718 graduands since inception
of the school in 1969. Pastor Ezeagu said that on day six Wednesday October 2nd
, 2019 that there would be road show along Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way as well as
giving back to the society of free medical, Legal consultation et’al.
Speaking further with the media Pastor Ezeagu
said that day seven October 3rd , 2019 would be the celebration of
the founder’s 90th birthday Baba Olaniyan as well as having day
eight Friday, 4th October, 2019 as a commemorative tree planting ,
commissioning of the renovated classrooms and building blocks and the day would
end up with a novelty soccer match.
He
further disclosed to the media that day nine Saturday 5th October,
2019 would be the grand finale Awards gala nights adding that day ten, Sunday 6th
October, 2019 would be the thanksgiving service at Bola Memorial Anglican
Church for the founder’s 90th birthday ceremony.
The chairman of LOC
of the golden jubilee ceremony of Victory at 50 pastor Ezeagu said that their
distinguished guests are follows: for the special guest of honour His
Excellency Prof. Yemi Osinbajo Vice President of the republic, Chief host is
the executive governor of Lagos State His Excellency Mr. Babajide Olusol Sanwo
– Olu while the guest of honour are all the executive governors of South West
geo political zone as well as His Excellency Rt. Hon Aminu Tambuwal, Executive
governor of Sokoto state, His Excellency Dr. Bello Matavallen – Maradarm
executive governor of Zamfara state. He said that the royal fathers of the day
are the following uncommon royalty. HRM Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II
The Ooni of Ife, HRM (Oba) Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo III, The Alake of Egbaland,
HRM (Oba) Rilwanu Babatunde Aremu Akiolu I Oba of Lagos. Others are HRM (Oba)
Kabiru Kolawole Alani Adelaja Agbabiaka Aina Gbeto, The Osolo of Osolo Kingdom,
HRM (Oba) Kabiru Shotobi, The Ayangburen of Ikorodu and the last, but not the
least HRM (Oba) Barr. Abdulsemiu Onadegun Kasali (Emugoriade I).
Speaking
again he said that their school has taught them lots of virtues of life such as
honesty, discipline, perseverance, industry, faithfulness and above all the
school has impacted them positively in all ramifications. He said that many of
the graduands of Victory schools are employers of labour, some of them work in
in different establishments adding that the founder Baba Olaniyan fatherly
disciplined them in all manners of up bringing them as students while they were
secondary school students.
He said that they were about 6, 000 of them that
came for the examination in the year 1976 and said again that after the written
examination, that they were tested with sports, as over 5, 000 students were
shown the way out of the system because they did not measure up to creditably
in sports. He belongs to 1981 set of Victorians. Speaking with media, the image
maker of the golden jubilee, ceremony of the Victorians Niyi Adeyeni said that
he belongs to 1982 set and the founder of the school Baba Olaniyan was a father
to them adding that Baba Olaniyan did not pretend with them when they were
students because Baba Olaniyan dealt with them as the situations arose
regardless whose Ox is gored.
He said that he gives thanks to Almighty God for
the uncommon love, graces He bestowed on all the graduands and the founder
himself who is aging gradually and all that. The welcome party they had saw all
the sets of the Victorians having a warm hand shake and a bow to the founder
Baba Olaniyan who sat happily on his chair with lots smiles from his mouth from
time to time. To lively up the welcome party a dancing competition was held and
they all danced their hearts out, but, Leye Olaniyan a 1980 set of Victorian
clinched the coveted the crown with 21 points while Damilola Bamidele a 2013
set of Victorian came up second with 17 points.
Speaking
with Iconblazemagazineonlineportal the head girl of the school in the 1975 to
1976 set Mrs. Oyewunmi Fawole Osadare said that she is from the same town in
Osun state where the founders of the school hails from adding that she was a
beneficiary of Baba Olaniyan scholarship gesture to his people. She said that
she knew Lagos for the first time when she resumed at Victory school as a
student adding that she would be forever grateful to God Abba Father and Baba
Olaniyan for the scholarship accorded to her as a little lass. She said that Baba
Olaniyan has positively touched and impacted many lives through qualitative
education he established in the year 1969. She concluded with God bless all old
students, present students, Baba Olaniyan, Lagos state and Nigeria so that the
nation could give birth to visioners like chief (Dr.) Olaniyan for human
capital development index in all ramifications.
