Speaking to the gathering at Lagos Chambers of Commerce of Industry (LCCI) Conference and Exhibition Centre, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos at 2023 Conference of Nigeria Trade Association with the theme “Economy for Accelerated Growth and Economic Development in Nigeria DCN Samson Uwanni states that Nigeria actually paraded  activists like Professor Lumumba of Kenyan, concurring that the late peoples lawyers the Senior Advocate of the Down Trodden Masses and Senior Advocate of Nigeria SAN, Abdulgani Fawahinmi and the late afrobeat maestro, Ebami Eda Olufela Kuti were pragmatic activists Nigeria space has witnessed. 

He stated that they used their professions to challenge the powers that be in the republic adding that the leaders that that called the shots while they were alive actually felt their undiluted struggles they employed to free Nigerians from the shackles of poverty, corruption, bad governance. 

He said that Nigerian lack of accommodation, lack of press freedom, lack of rule of law, et’al. He further stated Nigerians really need to stand up and legally pursue their collective rights of existence and economic growth in all ramifications. 

Speaking further he says most of federal roads are death traps that have heavily affected movements of goods and services from North to Lagos adding that some Lorries conveying tomatoes stay days on the roads before arriving Lagos for distributions. 

He categorically blames the leadership for all these difficulties the citizenry are encountering on a daily basis.

Speaking to the audience the president of APNECON (Alaga Iduro Ijoko) Matilda Ajibola Sopeolu painfully narrated her experiences from customers who come to her to purchase her products adding that these customers wickedly underpriced her products and she also added that she is in the business of rearing pigs. 

She says that every week she spends about four hundred thousand naira only to feed her pigs and other unforeseen expenses here and there adding that she lost about six hundred thousand naira only when she sold off some of her pigs. 

She advised the participants to show love amongst themselves adding that it is not the leadership that is the one dishing out of wickedness to others rather the citizenry themselves are the ones displaying wickedness.

Speaking to the gathering Dr. Nelson Obine, Sustainable Development Practitioner, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) People Planet and Profit Media is both the Convener and Moderator of the Conference of Nigeria Trade Association. And of a truth he did not disappoint the participants with the lucid and cerebral of the deliveries of the seminar papers he presented. 

He categorically asked the participants critical questions as the challenges of the down trodden masses are facing in the present economic space in the Republic. The Keynote Speaker Mr. Wale Thompson, Lagos Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, he too did not disappoint the audience with his sharp analysis of disseminating the workable ideas and ideals of how Lagos State Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment has been on the fore front rendering huge assistance to the citizenry as regards accessing all it takes to be taught of how to create wealth and also be employable for means of livelihood.

Speaking with iconblazemagazineonline the President of Lagos State Caterers and Decorators Association Mrs. Clementina Oladipo states that prices of the materials they use for their business have risen to the roof top adding that the cost of a plate of rice in the past used to be ₦2,500 is now selling between ₦4,000 ­­­- ₦5,000. 

She painfully expressed that because they do not wish to be out of business they normally advice their clients on the current situation of everyday items in the market that have gone up too badly, that they are always holding MOU with their clients so that both parties would be happy. She says that the cost of flour for baking cakes et’al used to be ₦7000, but now it is selling for ₦30,000 adding that the clients would be advised to bake just one to three steps rather than baking five steps higher. She says that they have heard lots of promises from the government circles, and nothing tangible has come out in their favor, that they have accepted to dance to the tune of the music.


Speaking with iconblazemagazineonline the Chairman of Lagos State Professional Carpenters and Furniture Makers and Association Prince Muyideen Adegbola states that the Lagos State Government does not carry them along as regards in all the building projects she embarks upon adding that she is always in the habit of patronizing roadside carpenters and furniture makers. He says that they are the real Professional the Lagos State Government should engage whenever the need arises for making of sofas, cupboards, wardrobes, kitchen dividers, dining tables, et’al.

Speaking with iconblazemagazineonline National President of National Electronics Technicians Association of Nigeria states that the Conference of Nigeria Trade Association is really apt and timing, but that such gathering should not be fixed on the last Thursday of the month, because that is the day other associations hold their monthly meetings like his. 

He says that the citizenry are experiencing extreme difficulties in all fronts of human endeavor adding that the present day government should softening the turf of the environment so that the citizenry  could have sigh of heavy relief.
