HRM ACHEBE SHOWERS PRAISES TO ALMIGHTY GOD FOR ONITSHA DAY 2017

His Royal Majesty Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Ugochikwu Achebe has spiritually showered praises to Almighty God for the graces and mercies. He has granted to the sons and daughters of Onitsha in Lagos State. 

He spoke extempore at the open field of Police College, Ikeja, Lagos as his subjects members of Onitsha Improvement Union (OIU) Lagos or branch. He categorically charged all and sundry to be good and worthy ambassadors and representatives of Onitsha here in Lagos State because a good name is far better than a bogus richness. 

After paying homage’s to his Royal Majesty Agbogidi Obi of Onitsha Achebe, and traditional breaking of Kola nuts, the chairman of the event Nnabuenyi IK Osakwe presented his opening remarks to all and sundry as he told the sons and daughters that Onitsha Day 2017 is really a remarkable day that the rich cultural heritage got to be showcased to the entire globe. 

He charged parents of Onitsha stuff to always visit home with their lovable offspring’s so that these gifts of GOD would be able to master the rich cultures of their home town. Speaking the president general Onitsha improvement union Lagos chapter SIR ABC EKWEOGWU delivered his welcome address to all and sundry and in his welcome address he pleasantly thanked the organizing committee for a job well done and he also commented all units of Onitsha improvement union here in Lagos for unflinching understandings and cooperation with the organizing committee. 

The Onitsha improvement Union Lagos chapter witnessed march pass and heavy of displays of cultural dances around the police college open field, Ikeja Lagos where all cultural displays paid uncommon homage to HRM Igewe Agbogidi Achebe. The theme of Onitsha improvement Union (OIU) Day 2017 Ife Eji Abu Onicha Erika literally meaning that uncommon glory shines upon Onitsha persons. 

The media crew at the venue interviewed the publicity secretary Onitsha improvement union, Lagos branch Austin Nonso Areh said that onitsha day is a special one for all sons and daughters of Onitsha here in Lagos. As he said that his Royal Majesty Igwe Agbogidi obi of Onitsha Nnaemeka Achebe came all way from Onitsha to be the arrow head of Onitsha rich cultural heritage which shows that Agbogidi is in tanden with his subjects even those in Diasporas.

 He says that this Onitsha day 2017 has gathered the crème-de-la crème of Onitsha peoples. Speaking with the media crew the Deputy Commissioner of Police DCP Chuks Enwonwu said that he was really elated to be so awarded by his own people in spite of serving at Oji river police command, Enugu, Enugu State. 

He says that the award would spur him more to do more for the people of Onitsha he says as public servants that they are not heard but they are seen. DCP Enwonwu  says that he as worked as police officer in 34 states of the federation .He says that he as sponsor for service for the improvement mankind irrespective of creed, background, race, colored sex that God Almighty has been sauce of his treat. 

He say that the present inspector general Malam idris as been promoting the good welfare of all men and officers. and again he say that IGP Malam Idris detest bribery and corruption any officers caught in any aching in this ugly act will be showered the way out of the system.  

Speaking again with the journalists Alagbado improvement Union, Lagos branch pastor Chuma Edekobi as the president of the Union, he says that Onitsha day 2017 is all about projecting their cultural heritage and he says that their Igwe Agbogidi Achebe came inform his Royal Palace from Onitsha to appreciate his subjects pastor Edekobi Sayo that Onitsha day began in the year 1960 i.e. Some 57 years as the late DrBenjamin Nnamdi Azikiwe was an indigene of Onitsha. 

He says that the culture of Onitsha is very rich and that their gathering at police college is to tell Nigeria that Onitsha people’s cultures are still very vital one as Oba of Lagos, Riwan Akiolu, Governor of Lagos State Akinwumi Ambode, Oni of Ife Oba Dr Adeyeye Entain Babatunde Ogunwusi Ojayall, Arole Oodua.

He says that Onitsha people do not speak hate speeches because they are peaces loving people. Speaking with Journalist ones of the awardees Igba Jesus, a tall handsome and large hearted Man said that the Onitsha people migrated from Bini Kingdom through their progenitor their progenitor Ezechima who had other off spring’s issele uki Onitsha Ukwu, Onitsha Ugbo Obior et’al, but for us Onitsha Ado people we settled down after crossing the river Niger. 

He says that he is royalty because he is from a royal family and that he remarkable igwe Adebogide Achebe is his own bloodline as he further said that Onisha person posses and emulating traits that others love to imbibe into their system. 

And again, he regrettably disclosed to the journalists that during the Nigerian Civil War that Late Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwe Ojukwu and his co-travelers branded Onitsha and her people with all unlovable names, whereas Onitsha and her people are very, very, very peaceful and accommodating people with strangers and neighbors.

He said that Onitsha has given birth to great sons and daughter for instance the late zik of Africa late Ifeajuna, the computer guru Philip Emeagwele who is based in the United State of American Igba Jesus said that until all those that cast aspersions at the Onitsha people tender profuse apologies to them then successes would come their ways. 

Speaking with Journalists Barr A.B.K Emest Offiah, one of the awardees said that he was really elated to be so awarded by his own people and that this whole award would spur him to work more hard and he said that the dedicates his award to God Almighty, because God himself is the one who gives him the grace to carry on and he concludes that Onitsha is a symbol of unity and that Onitsha person is a very peaceful personage Emeka Chukwurah speaking with journalists the Onitsha Ado national youths movement Lagos Branch said that the significance of the Onitsha day 2017 is to bring all sons and daughters together for cultural celebration adducing that most of them were born here in Lagos State and that they have never travelled home, but, that this Onitsha day is very important to all and sundry because it is cultural extravaganza as most of the children have seen Ijele masquerade. 

Which is the head of all masquerades and the children are really happily to see the cultural displays done by all age grades of various chapters under Onitsha improvement union. Chukwuroh said that Onitsha man is known for many of the youths have come to identify with them as they have registered with Onitsha Ado National Youths Movement, Lagos Branch. 

Speaking with media crew the gentle giant and paragon of beauty the vice president of Onitsha professional Ladies circle Lagos branch and Legal adviser 7 up butting couple Mrs. Ngozi Anyaegbuam Guwa Amu said that her club is there to help the less privilege of Onitsha indigenes with scholarship and that nine of them would be beneficiary of the Onitsha Professional Ladies circle scholarship scheme from September this year. 

And that those who got the scholarship ware tested with an attitude test and all that. The vice President Mrs. Giwa Amu said that their club welcomes all daughters of Onitsha to members of Onitsha Professional Ladies Circle so that tougher all of them would forester unity and love progress et’al. speaking with  journalists one of the awardees, a lecturer at the Lagos Business School, Lekki Epe Expressuray, Ajah LagosNigeria Henry Onukwuba who Teaches Human Resources Management and Organizational Behavior and he said that the award of excellencies to him is as a result of the worthy efforts they have been making by making life meaningful for all and sundry.

 Onukwuba said that he is the Vice-President of an age grade of Udogadi and he says that he has been in the struggle with Onitsha issues here in Lagos for over 20 years. Onukwuniba praised HRM Igwe Agbogidi Achebe for his intelligence selflessness, hardworking and remarkable king since the Obi of Onitsha Ado Kingdom. Onukwuba said that when he launched his book on late Dr Azikiwe last year, that Agbogidi himself was the presenter of the book. He further said that culture is very important as Onitsha day 2017 has brought the best of cultural displays from her peoples. 

Speaking with journalists the amiable musician who came all the way from Onitsha Anambra State to entertain his own people played good dancing tracks and of a truth the pretty young things of late Michael Joseph Jackson aka MJJ sang many year ago actually troop out and danced to the melodies tunes of Hon. Ikem Mazeli aka Onye Nure Egwu and also the chairman of PMAN, Anambra State. He says that he knows his people and his people know him very well and that is why he was contracted to perform for Onitsha improvement Union. 

The PMAN Chairman Mazeli said that he is really happy that Omitsha Day 2017 recorded uncommon successes. He also thanks and commends the Agbogidi Achebe the Obi of Onitsha for coming all the way from Onitsha to honor his subjects son and daughter of Onitsha.

The politician science grade from Ambrose Alli University Emokpa Edo state turned Musician Mazeli praises the organisers of Onitsha Ado Day 2017 because the Holy Spirit of God gave them good weather inclement despite all the signs the weather showed while the cultural extravaganza wore on. 

He says that he stated his musician career since the 1990s and he says that since he delved into music that it has not been easy but however he gave thanks to God for his unimaginable protection over him.

The climaxes of Onilsha day 2017 was when HRM Agbogidi Obi of Onitsha Achebe, Ndichie and all the age grade cultural groups danced from one canopy to another with heavy cultural extravaganza.
