MAN WINDS UP FOUR DAYS 54TH ANNUAL
CONFERENCE

Yes, the Mathematical Association of Nigeria (MAN) has
successfully wound up her 54th annual conference which did start on
Monday August 21, 2017 and the said 54TH
annual conference ran up to Friday August 24, 2017 at the Multipurpose Hall of
Yaba College of Technology, (YCT) Yaba, Lagos.
The Theme of the 54th Annual Conference of MAN
dwelled on ``Mathematics as a key to Sustainable Change To Growth and Development”.
The keynote presenter is Dr Uyi Uwadia, the registrar, West Africa Examination
Council (WAEC) and of a truth he did not disappoint the participants with his
heavy researched mathematic paper he did present.
The lead paper presenter 1, professor Samuel Segun Okoya of
University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos and the head paper 2 presenter Dr. Mrs.
Margret Kudirat Ladipo, Rector of Yaba College of Technology, yaba Lagos they
both did well with their presentations. The lead paper 3 was presented by Dr.
(Mrs) Omolola Aina Ladele, the Provost of College of Education, ijankin, Lagos.

kastina, kastina state said that the essence of the 54th MAN Annual
Conference to bring all mathematicians nationwide to discuss the A.B.C of
making the subject mathematics loved by pupils, students and everybody.
He said that through the applications of mathematics into
our body polity that there would be sustainable change in growth and
development. He further buttressed that mathematics and science are the two
major tools that would drive the current economy quagmire from worst to
flowering levels. Speaking again with icon blaze magazine online, Tanimu Nalado
Kankie from kastina state and also a staffer of Ministry Education, Assistant
Director.
He is also the CEO Science Academy, part lecturer AC QACAMV
UNIVERSITY, testing department of mathematics and computer science. He also
agreed with the line of thoughts his colleague from Umaru Musa yar’adua
university kastina, he says that mathematics is the simplest subject or course
that anybody could study.
He says that why pupils and students are afraid of
mathematics is because some of the teachers of mathematics do not apply all the
needed applications to make the subject really easy and simply for the
learners. He further says that Mathematics, Science, Technology and ICT are the
tools needed to drive the current economy out of dead wood situation it is
standing now.

He too towed the lines of thoughts his colleagues believed in the roles of
mathematics plays in national economy and nation building.
He says that mathematics is very easy and simple subject for
all persons to know because mathematics

Martins Enyinnaya Ukwu, former Director of workshops, Mathematical Association
of Nigeria and Current Resource Person Best Practices and method of Teaching
Mathematics.
He says that the teachers should make mathematics soluble,
attractive and simpler for the learners of mathematics. He says that he organizes
workshops on mathematics from time to time, because mathematics governs all the
sensible this of human beings. He agrees that the theme of the 54th
Mathematical Annual Conference is really apt and timely in the sense that
mathematicians need to help the national economic planner to progress
electorate.
