Recently, at Eko Hotel and Suites,
Victoria Island, Lagos, Africa Cinematography Festival (ACF) unveiled Logo, Brand
Ambassadors and Resource Persons.
Speaking, the co-founder of Africa
Cinematography Festival Sunnie Odafe said that he was well honoured to welcome
all and sundry to the unveiling experimentation, but largely he gave credence
to the team from the United States of America Consulate in Lagos, the Liberian
Ambassador in Nigeria.
Odafe acknowledged the ACF founding
matron an accomplished entrepreneur and a servant of the Lord, Mrs.
FolorunshoAlakija as well as her members of Board of Advisors. Odafe disclosed
to the audience that their gathering purely centred on the audience corporate
board unveiling of Africa Cinematography Festival (ACF) and public presentation
of Resources Persons, Partners and Brand Ambassador Odafe told the elatic
audience that the event they were witnessing did begin a few months ago,
precisely between March and April, 2017 from a harmless discussion that focused
on producing and industry magazine. Odafetold the audience that Africa
Cinematography Festival was not a rival platform, but rather one which
complements existing efforts across broad which was directed at raising the
profile of the Africa Film Industry while creating and providing opportunities
that would enable many off the down trodden masses.

quota to strengthening of relevant relationships with partners both local and
foreign based on integrity and trust to increase the chances of meeting with
the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of United Nations especially in the
areas of Education, Development and Economic Empowerment.

ambassadors, friends from African countries. She did give recognition to the
board of advisers, Governing Councils, Resources persons, Regulatory Agencies,
Foreign missions in Nigeria, Partners and sponsors.

The business mogul, Mrs. Alakija
said that what ACF has started is a journey into a world that reflects on
common philosophy of optimism that they started. The business mogul and servant
of God, Mrs. Alakija in her words is the Africa Cinematography Festival (ACF)
for which unveiling we are gathered here is a road map to the future of the film industry cum economy of this great country and continent.
I want to thank everyone who has
come on board – the Governing Council, the Board of Advisers the regulatory
authorities and foreign missions, the Brand ambassadors, various partners from
both public and private sectors, sponsors and the media for the thinking in the
same direction. The Africa Cinematography Festival (AFC) is not a poverty alleviation
effort initiative or scheme, it is an empowerment platform that holds lots of positive for the individuals, the film industry and national economics.
Speaking further, the founding
matron of Africa Cinematography Festival (ACF) business mogul and chief
shepherd of God Mrs. Alakija said that a recent report on Nigeria’s unemployment
and under employment rate for the last quarter of 2016 by the National Bureau
of Statistics, that there were about 28.58 Million jobless persons, while
another 17.08 millions are unemployed.
Mrs. Alakija disclosed to the
audience the maiden edition of Africa Cinematography Training workshop,
conference and Technology Expo festival (ACF) shall be a six day beneficial
training, conference coming up between 5th and 11th November, 2017
which shall seek to empower participants in such areas as sound productions,
light design, lighting, script writing, production design, make up artistry costume
design, directing motion and still camera lens handling, editing, film making as
it would serve as a rallying part for all stakeholders in the film economy of
the Africa Continent.
The high point of Africa
Cinematography Festival (ACF) was when the Africa Brand Ambassadors and
Resource persons were publicly unveiled and presented. Adding that among those
unveiled were Nigerian actor Ramsey Nouah, British – Ghanian multi-talented
actress AmaKonadu Abebrese, Actress Sandra Seghers Mushid from the Democratic
Republic of Congo (DRC) the Cameroonian duo of Lizzette Benz and Ayuk Thambi,
Atem-Ebai and Beninour actor, singer and model Serge Paricl Laleye and GuiruSylla.
Others were Liberian actor Major
Owusu Danshaw, Nollywood actress and elegant Oghenekaro Itene, Vanesa Swert from
South Africa and Nollywood actor Rycardo Agbor while the resource persons
included Dr. Iyabola Ajibola of Leeds City University, Ibadan, Oyo State,
Adeniran Makinde, Akin Lewis who had spent about 44 years in the movie
industry, Kingsley Nwosu, Prof Hygeniu Ekwuazi, Prof Chukwuma Okoye, Dr. Tundeb
Bakare, Alex Gransallo Yinka Smart babalola, Prince Kojo Hilton, Dr. Alphonsus Orisayemi,
others were Micheal Mulutombo, Frank Adekunle and Nwandamutswu Maanda.
Speaking at the unveiling, the
founding matron, Africa Cinematography Festival (ACF) Mrs. Alakija described
the ACF as a roadmap into the future of the film industry cum economy of both
Nigeria and Africans. Also speaking at the unveiling, the Managing Director and
Chief Executive Officer (NFC) Dr. Chidia Madueke praised the initiative just as
he stressed that it was in tandem with NFCs efforts to continually simulate activities
as well as sustain the narratives geared towards the development of the
Nigerian motion picture industry.

In his words: “The increased film
production activities within the industry across the countries, its acceptance
by the citizens of Nigeria and lately, its contribution to the growth of the nation’s
economy are indication that there are opportunities that are yet untapped.
These opportunities several of them will remain untapped except we develop the
will to sustain the conversations and do the needful,” he said.
Speaking at the unveiling, founding
Ambassador and Director-General, Events and Coordination, Mrs. Juliet Alakija said
that it was the recognition of the vital roles young
people played in nation building and the concerted efforts to ensure that there
were processes and opportunities that allow them to develop, adding that these
countries sought to develop capacities as part of their long term situation
that would facilitate the opening of opportunities as these opportunities would
largely help to fully develop their physical, mental, and moral faculties.
