I HAVE LOTS OF SYMPATHIES FOR THE MASSES – HON SALVADOR

Getting to holding audience with Hon Moshood Adegoke Salvador, the newly elected Lagos State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, was really a herculean task. It took full eight weeks for us at www.iconblazemanagazineonline.blogspot.com to finally secure an uncommon audience with the amiable, listening, responsive, renovative, distinguished leader and highly large hearted personage. But, the graces of God shone at us when I placed a call to him and he answered us telling us to reach his palatial towers Surelere, Lagos before 12 noon of the scheduled day due to his very busy schedules. 

When we arrived at his towers, we met with some challenges from the security operatives and we were interrogated. But, finally we were ushered into his expansive office, where we had an inspiring audience with Hon. Salvador during which time he said: “I have lots of sympathies for the masses.” Hon Salvador does not see anything that all the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Lagos State had done since May 2015. He queried if there has been new roads constructed, he queried about health care delivery system, where there are no free medications for the down trodden masses Hon Salvador believes that dividends of democracy should be provided for all and sundry.

 He said that he has not earned a dime from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) coffers rather; he said that he is the one expending his personal monies for the party. He graphically disclosed how he personally raised six million naira only for the primaries of Pharmacist Jimi Agbaje who ran for the Governorship slot in Lagos State during the 2015 governorship elections in Lagos State, under the platform of the PDP. He said that Senator Ogunlewe collected the said monies from him personally and immediately, he Ogunlewe disbursed the monies to the party leaders for work. 

And, again he disclosed that his tenants who are captains of industries helped to raise Twenty Million Naira only for Agbaje to enable him do effective and efficient campaigns, he categorically stated that his major concern is how to affect the down trodden masses, as he said that during the last Ramadan celebrations in the state, that he personally gave out goods and other items to over 3,000 persons. 

And again, he said that he is looking forward to begin a project whereby he would feed about 3,000 persons monthly. Hon Salvador said that in the last election at Ifako Ijaiye, a candidate became downcast. He said that he did not need such monies from the candidate because God has blessed him with his own wealth.

He said that when he was in the House of Representatives, he was more popular than as a Speaker because of his outstanding integrity. He said that in less than one hour, his name would be heard more than 10 times. 

And again, he said because of his integrity, the national decision makers are always giving him assignments to carry out on the behalf of the party. He averred that the forth coming bi-elections of Lagos State House of Assembly in Eti-Osa Local Government Area that PDP will win because the PDP has put her house in order. While he said that APC has some challenges to contend with, Hon Salvador narrated that when Late Engr. Funsho Williams came up for gubernatorial slot in PDP, that he was using his facilities in holding their meetings and he Hon. Salvador was the one financing his campaign streaks. 

In his words: “I have never received any monies from anybody since I became the PDP Chairman, Lagos State. I challenge anyone to come up and tell the whole world how much he or she gave me.” Hon Salvador said that there is no difference between six and a half a dozen as PDP and APC are made up of diverse persons. Generally, Hon Salvador said that he want leaders to provide the basic amenities for the down trodden masses in the nation.
