welcomed all and sundry to the 4th Nigeria Phama Manufacturing EXPO
Inauguration.
He particularly said he is really delighted with the
attentions the international exhibition has gathered the who is who is the
pharmaceutical sector stressing the important role pharmacist to play in
raising the gross demotic product of any nations. Dr Akpa further disclosed to
the VIPS and exhibitors that this 4th edition has largely been
improved in all ramifications.
Speaking with journalists Dr Onyenoha Chukumerije of onyexx
phama LLC invine, CA, USA, and also of University of Port Harcourt faculty of
pharmaceutical science Choba, Rivers State said he is quite impressed with the dynamics
of the 4th Nigeria Pharma Manufacturers Expo and Nigeria Lab Expo.
He opined that the attendance of participants and Exhibitors are quite
encouraging. He commended the organizers for their uncommon vision and mission.
Speaking with journalists sir Nnamdi Obi said that the
international EXPO is really apt and timely because the federal government of
Nigeria polices has been one step forward, 10 steps backward. He categorically compared
the capital reserves of Nigeria and China. He regrettably said that Nigeria has
31 billion naira only in her reserve while china has over trillions of dollars
in foreign reserves.
He says that he is a proud Nigeria as he did render his good
will message he said that he does not care whose tribe the Nigeria leader will
come from, whether from the East, North South or West let he says that anyone who has the right
orientations to lead should come up for elective offices, but he painfully said
that those who know what to do, do not have monies to run for elections.
He says that it if fake
drugs are produced in china that the authorities would make sure they fish out
the producer of the fake drug and they would be severely punished but here in
Nigeria fake drugs product are hardly caught how much punishing them. Sir
(Pharm) Obi is the CEO of Embassy Pharmaceutical & Chemical LTD, which says
it is visa to the healthy living.
He opined that why Chinese have improved economically is
because the leaders know exactly why they call the shots whereas in Nigeria the
leaders are to line the pocket with public funds that are meant for the good of
all and sundry. He commended the PGM MAN for their organizational skills. He
further said that Nigeria will be much better in the nearest future.
Speaking with www.iconblazemagazineonline.blogspot.com,
the account manager Middle East Africa and pharma Excipients Dr Karim Maarif of
Kerry group said that the pharmaceutical industry promises a huge market for
the operators. He said that the industry needs lot of knowledge, exchange and
training in order to improve the quality of drugs manufactured and also be very
competitive for the market.
He regrets that most local pharmaceutical
manufacturers are in the habit of using very old processes of managing excipients ingredients which multiples excipients and this brings the amount of currency
the pharmacists need to more from old process to new initiatives Dr Maarif
believes that all these variables would largely reduce time cost and energies
where as he agrees when carefully applied it would increase the product in
local market by this the pharma companies would get their monies to the treasure as he
said the federal government of Nigeria has to protect the local manufacturers
by upgrading or updating the laws and regulation of pharmaceutical industry.
Dr Maarif quashed that why should the federal government of
Nigeria should allow the importation of finished product (Medicare) that can
be produced locally so why are the policy maker killing the business of
investor in Nigeria who spent lots of monies to procure equipment used in the
foreign land and whereas production the pharma group engage are imported Incipient
and manufacturers of knowledge exchange and of a truth the input of ministry of
health is highly needed to drive the pharmaceutical companies. Dr Maarif concurs
that it is high time the government has got to put their acts together so that
what manufacturers produce can sold cheaply to the end user.
Speaking with journalists Brigadier General MA Abdullahi, Managing Director of Nigeria Army Small Scale Drug Manufacturing Unit (NASDMU)
said that there is no nation without difficult so Nigeria is not exception yes he quite
agreed that the current recession in the body polity has badly affected all and
sundry, but with the grace of God and have the right leaders with good
orientations that things would improve. It says that Nigeria is a huge market
for Pharmaceutical industry because the population is increasing on a daily
progression.

world class equipment laboratory process and packaging they have gathered at
the heaven with thousand of pharmaceutical exhibitions and exhibitors.
He says that
the policy makers got to really proactive and consistent with the kind of
policies they dish out from time to time, that they should make funds
accessible by those local manufactures because health is wealth. Speaking again
with journalist Dr. Sam Olawoye of Sam Ace Ltd said that he has seen a good
move by the PMG MAN and he wishes them to continue to improve the future
editions.
He said that
the stakeholders can make good use of the opportunities available from the
table of PMG MAN but, that the federal government of Nigeria should be held
responsible for the inconsistent policies coming from their door posts. We want
to take the government as technocrats as they need actions as the technocrats
should not sit down and look as if nothing is happening.
Dr.Olawoye
pointed out that late Dora Akunyili made her mark as technocrat at the
government speaking with WWW. iconblaze magazine online.blogspot.com, the
logistics office/programmed officers, grants funding and strategy Gospel Joseph
said that they will be clocking 10 years this September 2017. He disclosed that
they have lots of challenge, because they generate their funds internally as
they are not donors funded. He says when the current recession ravaging the
economy crept into system there were lots of challenges. speaking with the
program officer/administrative officer of live well initiative , Eunice Akiwomi
said basically live well initiative shall be clocking 10 years by 22 September
2017.
She said at
live well initiative they are not donor funded, they are self funded as the
major challenge they are having is sponsor. That each program they go to, they
screen up to seven to ten different screenings which are; blood pressure, blood
sugar, oral health, screening ,stress test , body mass index , they also screen
for Hepatitis B and C Hiv\Aids , malaria , cervical screen for women and prostrate screening for men, typhoid
screen, cholesterol test et’al.
All of these
they screen for people but due to
increase in price in the market ,it is really affecting them, though God has
been helping them out from the recession till now. Speaking again Gospel Joseph
said that they have been collaborating with international partners like Harvard
school of public health, because their mission is to promote wellness and
prevent ill health. Live well initiative needs some sort of support from government
and organizations. they refer readers to visit their website which is www.livewellng.org.
