YES LASUTH WINDS UP HER WEEK LONG 2017

Yes, the management of Lagos State
University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, Lagos has successfully wound up
her week long 2017 service chatter delivery.
Speaking to the participants pharma Henry
chukwurah told the participants that today is the day to recognize role models
of LASUTH who have dutifully, deligently, efficiently and effectively attended
to their functions through the services rendered to patients of LASUTH.
Pharm Chukwurah said that today is
not a day to apportioning blames as service charter is all about service
delivery to clients, customers with efficient and effective services. Speaking
again to the audience pharm Chukwurah said that good working attitudes are the
major issues, as attitudes to work and good communicational skills either
verbal or non verbal are the tools needed for efficient and effective service
delivery.
Again, speaking to the participants
the chief Medical Director (CMD) Prof Adewale David Oke did welcome all and
sundry to the event which the said it started since the 9th of
October 2017, and that the entire activities of the service charter delivery
has finally wound up with this educative seminar.
The Chief Medical Director (CMD)
Prof. Oke said that as a second edition of service charter week of LASUTH. He
said that their service charter delivery got to be provided with smiles on
their faces as he told the participants that LASUTH is an institution that has
to provide effective and efficient services to all and sundry. He said that
LASUTH service charter delivery renders highly specialized duties to the
patients because LASUTH is not a general hospital and again, he advised the
participants to always communicate with their patients.
The CMD said that collaboration and
team work is very important for all workers, as the workers must provide firm,
seamless efficient and effective services chatter delivery to their clients
with smiles on the workers faces and he concludes by saying that workers must
give patients all the times and attention they needed.
Speaking to the audience with a goodwill
messages Princess Adenike Adedoyin Ajayi who stood in for the Lagos State
government appreciated the leadership qualities of LASUTH particularly as she
pushes the service charter delivery to a
high pedestal. She also brings warn greetings from the Lagos State governor Mr.
Akinwummi Dapo Ambode that in his wisdom as Chief Security Officers of Lagos
State, he has kept the service charter delivery through their Director- General
Mr. Toba Ogunsanya who has effectively and efficiently empowered them. Princess
Ajayi said that the theme of the conference is very apt, timely and encouraging
as the CMD has earlier noted.
She told the audience that once the
customers have not said that they are satisfied, that the service charter
delivery is not yet achieved. She opines that excellent service delivery is
only recognized when the customers say that he or she is satisfied.
That the customer must be delighted,
have lots of good will as the customer would not wished to wait unendingly, so
she stressed that timeliness is very key in a hospital. She told the audience
that the customer would be very happy to know of information, as to let them
(customer) know what is happening, that the customers would like to know the
name of workers, handling their cases because it is two sides of coins and when
there is need to be sorry, when the occasion arises and that the customers
would like to know what is happening as everybody likes to know what is going
on.
She said that hospital workers must
be heavily professionally as professionalism is vey key in hospital administration,
that the customers really want to know how professionally the workers are, that
it is a bad ethics answering phone calls while customers are waiting to be
attended to and that as a worker you must not get piqued if the customers ask
you too many questions, that those questions must be answered clearly for them.
Princess Ajayi said that wrong staff attitudes as if there is a wrong attitude
that hospital workers can never deliver efficient and effective service chatter
delivery.
Princess Ajayi said that the workers
are not doing the customer any favour at all by rendering them the services
they expected from the hospital workers and that their salaries are paid to
them for doing their duties. Speaking again to the audience with a good will
message the Director, Hospital Administration, LASUTH, Mrs. Adio acknowledges
the presence of CMD, Princess Ajayi, Pham Chukwurah et’al she said that service
chatter delivery is improving in the services quality as it is a process and it
also included all the trainings that the workers, have received.
She told the participants that they
should always remember that their rewards are from God of all creations that
the reward of handwork is to work more hander.
The guest speaker, Head of
department, Psychiatry, LASUTH, Dr. Rotim Coker delivered the lectures which the
topic is “Attitudinal Change For Service Excellence” and of a truth Dr. Coker
held every participant with a spell bound as he uncommonly delivered his very
lucidly lectures whereby he says, workers should not complain about their work.
He says that workers should go the
extra miles to make sure that the job is done. He says that worker should
always appreciate their patients that from the salaries received, rents, school
fees, foods, et’al are paid for.
He says that workers should make
themselves available always, as the workers got to be influential and always be
proactive, that the workers should be open to their customers and again he says
that workers should get right attitudes toward work and that workers should
communicate with the patients, by looking into their eyes with smiles. Dr.
Balogun and a security operative were recognized for their performances.

DON’T MANAGE ARTHRITIS ON YOUR OWN-Prof Adelowo
At a world Arthritic Day, consultant Rheumatologist
Prof. Femi Adewolo told the gathering that No one should manage Arthritis on his or her own, because it is a
degenerative disease that need a specialists to handle.
Speaking with
journalists at the venue, Prof Adewolo said that arthritis is not a spiritual
or diabolical caused health challenges rather it is one of those illnesses
ravaging human begins. Prof Adewolo adduced that the suffers or patients should
come to the hospital to see the specialists for the treatments of Arthritis.
He
said that there about 100 types of Arthritis abound so it is not advised for
anyone to sit down at home and beginning to treat himself or herself, that the
best thing to do is to come to the
hospital to be treated by the specialists, as he said that there different
medical experts that handle the treatments of arthritis- Rheumatologist,
orthopedic surgeon, physiotherapist are the ones that handle those suffering
from arthritis and he says that there are management center at Jos and Agbowa
in Ikorodu.
Speaking again Prof Adewole said that the theme of this year world Arthritic Day “Take up the Action in
your Hands’ and again Prof Adewalo said that he would not be able reel out
number of persons affected with arthritis, but, he averred that self treatment
is not the best for anyone.
He generally advised all and sundry that they
should know the types of food’s items they eat, that red meat is not advisable
to eat at all. That those who smoke may likely be affected and that all and
sundry should watch their weight.
Speaking further Prof Adewolo generally
advised members of the public to seek medical attention quickly while
clarifying that good exercise and nutrition could help in treatment of the
ailment as he emphasized that there is No scientific proof that the supplements
have any effect on arthritics.
Other speakers at the event were Dr.
Olaosebikan, Dr. Esigwe, Dr. Olaifia and
Head of Physiotherapy LASUTH
while the Chief Medical Director, Department Clinical Service & Training
Dr. Aborisade Lydia represented the
Chief Medical Director Prof Oke at the world Arthritis Day. Ronke Anifowoshe
Bello, Head, Public Affairs Lasuth Moderated the event.
