VETLAND GRAMMAR SCHOOL MARKS 37TH FOUNDER’S DAY

The expansive compound of vetland junior Grammar school played a very productive host to all and sundry that graced the 37th founder’s day ceremonies.

Speaking to the members of Vetosan, tutor general and permanent secretary education district one, covering Agege, Alimosho and Ifako- Ijaiye Mrs. Yinka Ayandele commended the old students Association of Nigeria that it is really thoughtful for them to come together and for them remembering the great school that has developed them into useful citizens.

The tutor general and permanent secretary education district one covering Agege, Alimosho and Ifako Ijayi told the audience that she was one of the pioneer students of government college Agege, Lagos and every year UCA gives them 60 managers who came every Saturday at Government College, Agege Lagos to teach the SS3 students Mathematics, English and other subjects. And she said that the last West Africa examination council (WAEC) that students of Government College Agege, Lagos made 97% in mathematics and 92% in English language. She used the 37thfounder’s day to Vetosan member to key in the use of UCA 60 managers so that their students could come out in flying colors.

She generally advised the student body to be hardworking always, because, according to her, hard work does not kill, rather, it pays handsomely. Speaking with journalists, the executive chairman of Agege Local Government Area Hon. Gannyu Egungobi said that his administration would support the Vetosan in building their ultra-modern hall.

Hon. Egunjobi advised the students of Vetland Grammar School to always work hard with their studies because hard work would always bring out the best from them. Speaking with journalists the executive chairman of orile Agege Local Council Development Area Hon. Babatunde Johnson said that he is very happy with the entire Vetosan members for coming together for their 37th founders day and he openly advised the old students association to continue to nurture their school for greater future and greater successes.

He equally said that his administration would support the Vetosan with the construction of ultra- modern hall for the Vetland Grammar School. Speaking with journalists Dipo Adenika a former student of Vetland Grammar School said that he is very pleased to be raised by Late Mrs. L.T. Latona, the first principal of the Vetland Grammar School, Adenikan said that late Mrs. Latona applied wisdom and character in raising the entire students. 

He said that they thought that late Mrs. Lotana was a wicked woman but today, in his word I have found out that our first principal late Mrs. Latona meant well for the all students. Adenikan says that he is a successful business man running a shipping company in the United State of America, here in Nigeria. 

Adenikan runs a restaurant in the highbrow of Lekki area of Lagos and also a car business. Speaking with journalists, a human resource practitioner, Kehinde Oguneye who was the senior prefect of Vetland Grammar School, 1997 said that he is really pleased that Vetland Grammar School formed his character and that the foundation has been the leading light of his profession. Oguneye commended his principal and other school Teachers who played a very productive roles in the manner they handled them as students.

Speaking with journalists Adekunle Adeleye a former student of Vetland Grammar School said that he gives all the glory and adoration to Almighty God that he is a product of Vetland Grammar School. He said that he respects the gentlemen of the press a lot because according to Adeleye, he says that the pressmen are the fourth estate of realm and they are expected to write objectively what is happening in the society but he says that most journalists have compromised themselves with government functionaries by so doing the hard truths are not published.

However, he still believes that the roles of journalists can never be dwarfed. He says that three things are the problems of Nigeria, security, power and Infrastructure. He says that security of lives and property are the major functions of the federal republic of Nigeria should adequately take care of. He says that power and energy are very important in any given nation because with power and energy constantly supplied to the citizenry, that will attract foreign investors to invest heavily and foreign investors here and there, the unemployment rate would be reduced. With power and energy constantly supplied, small business owners would be able to function at full capacity.

Adeleye says, that the Federal government has to invest in infrastructure that would bring the dividends of democracy to the electorate.

Adeleye Says that democracy is practiced differently in different nations. For instance the way democracy is practiced in United Kingdom is quite different from the United States of America, Germany, Canada, South Africa et’al.
He says the problems of Nigeria are very easy to solve, if there is a political will from the leaders. 

Speaking with journalists, a foundation teacher of Vetland grammar school, Mrs. Esther Fadulu said that she is very happy that the school has become 37 years old, that it all started like a dream and she very grateful to God for the late Mrs. Latona, the very first principal that vetland grammar school had, because she actually instilled discipline and industry into the students.

Mr. Adeagbo Oluwadare Alibi was honored as the best teacher senior vetland grammar school for the year 2017 while Mrs. kudirat Olosola Salami became the best teacher for junior school, vetland grammar school. The high point of the 37th vetland grammar school founder’s day is when the pro type of ultra- modern hall is unveiled to the admiration of all and sundry of vetland grammar school Oko-Oba, Agege Lagos state.

The 37th founders day cake was cut by all sets of the school. So many present students won different awards from the school and Lagos State Government. speaking with journalists Mr. Alibi who teaches account at the senior vetland grammar school said that he joined the school in 2010. He says he give thanks to God and school management to have selected him as the best teacher for the year 2017. vetland grammar school has produced state men, business men, His Royal Majesties, Politicians etc. vetosan: knowledge is light Knowledge is light, vetosan.
