the 15th Annual Aret Adams Memorial Lecture Series at 2018 at the Agip
Rectial Hall, Muson Center, Marina, Onikan, Lagos the Former Group Managing
Director (GMO) of the Nigeria national petroleum (NNPC) Dr, Jackson gaius
obaseki who chaired the Aret Adams foundation the 15th annual Aret
Adams memorial lecture series told the crème-de-la-crème of the oil and gas
sector that the first GMD of NNPC Aret Adams had a great life while he was alive
working at NNPC.
Speaking further Dr, Obaseki said Aret Adams was heavily
celebrated after death and that the world would continue to celebrate him for
the uncommon legacies he did leave behind the former GMD of NNPC did
productively well as the chairman of the event, he actually carried all and
Sundry along. Speaking to the audience the chairman Board of Trustee, Aret
Adams foundation Egbert Imomoh thanked all and sundry for accepting their
invite to the 15th series of the public lecture which were started
in the year 2003 by the Center for Petroleum Information (CPI) in honor of Aret
Adams and speaking further Imomoh said if Aret were to be alive, he would have
been 80 years old a few days ago on the 27th of February.
Speaking
further Imomoh did say that last year the board reviewed the various topic they
had covered over the years and it dawned on them that they had chosen topics
mainly from the upstream and had not covered anything on the downstream guided
by the principles that they had used in
the past years which is to identify topics which they believe will be of
general interest are current topical and would appeal to all and attract a wide
audience and as a result they chose Refineries in Nigeria: Challenges and Opportunities
as the 15th anniversary lecture topic.
Speaking again, Imomoh told
the large crowds that they have continue to seek for funds for the
establishment of chairs at Ibadan and Ekpoma as these are: The Aret Adams
chairs for Geological studies: to be established at the university of Ibadan,
to encourage research and scholarly work in field of Geological surveys and the
one at the Ambrose Alli University,
Ekpoma in Edo State and as well as inculcating an entrepreneurial spirit and
also encourage skill in Nigeria wing in the rural and urban centers. Imomoh says that the foundation is yet to get sponsors
for these chairs as he says that he is really pleased to announce that they
remained committed to offering scholarship to 3 MSC student from the University
of Ibadan yearly. The guest lecturer for the 15th Aret Adams Memorial
Lecture series 2018 Engr. Anthony Ogbugwe past President Africa Refiners
Association and as well as the Managing Consultant.

the Aret Adams lecture topic is sweet and bitter, sweet in the sense the
federal government ought to have provided the dividends of democracy for the
down trodden masses but very bitterly the same federal government has
colossally failed all Nigerians by not providing the necessary dividends of
democracy, and sadly by so doing there has been lots of eliminates around the
