THE ANKARA MARKET IN LAGOS GENERATES OVER ₦1BILLION MONTHLY

Mr. Olawole Oladunjoye the amiable, cool, calm and calculative convener of Lagos Ankara Carnival/ Festival 2018 (LAFEST) has disclosed at a press conference in Ogun Room, NECA building, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos that the Ankara Market today in Lagos state generates over ₦1 billion monthly adding that the birth of the Lagos Ankara Festival would in earnest enhance the income generation uncommonly in its first three years of operation.

Speaking further Oladunjoye said that Ankara has become overwhelmingly popular in the global fashion scene and also it has become a most fashionable summer wears across the entire globe, as he buttresses that Ankara is primarily known and associated with African and West Africa in particular because of the tribal like patterns and motifs which has gradually become a real heritage of Yoruba culture.

Speaking further, Oladunjoye told the uncommon audience that Ankara has actually become a household name in Africa and particularly in the South West geo political zone of the federal republic of Nigeria adding that the Ankara Fabric has been heavily glamourized and made relevant by the Yoruba’s who graciously deck it out for various activities in exceptionally creative manners.

Speaking again the convener of LAFEST 2018 Oladunjoye gave a graphical background history of Ankara adding that the Africa Fabric popularly known globally as Ankara has existed over centuries across three continents bridging various power blocks.

LAFACE Further stressed that the Caribbean’s and that the Brazilians have in the past built a great Carnival Culture using their bright colorful fabrics and it has become a way of life and heavy income generations, for their governments adding that this carnival, do largely attract many tourists from all part of the globe yearly and it is the biggest carnival in the world Rio and Nottinghill respectively.

LAFACE told the audience that Nottinghill carnival started with only 50 people, possibly the organizers and few friends but, today the Nottinghill carnival attracts over five million tourists yearly. He queried that does anyone know the chunk of funds and uncommon opportunities the Nottinghill carnival attracts to all and sundry adding that Lagos Ankara Festival should grow in Leaps and Bounds to that of Rio, Nottinghill and Calabar Festivals.

LAFACE stressed on the recent Lagos State government in its bid to marshal out a tourism policy for Lagos did hold a Tourism Summit at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos and that the respective speakers is that as Lagosians and Creative heads that they only achieve a unique tourism Legacy by looking inwards and developing ideas that foreigners would imbibe from them as a people and one of such ideas is the Lagos Ankara Festival Project. The national coordinator of LAFACE disclosed to the audience that there shall be LAFEST EXHIBITION: This is a major exhibition of creativity in the textile industries and the economic ability of Ankara Fabric. LAFEST international Fashion show is a show of top models from the diaspora using only Ankara Fabrics.

Speaking as the representative of Iya loja General of Nigeria Chief (Mrs.) Folashade Tinubu Ojo, the Iya loja of Ojokoro market, Alhaja Risikat Eniola said that Chief Mrs. Ojo sent in her warm greetings and felicitations to the convener of 2018 LAFEST. She said that Iya loja General of Nigeria has said that all market women and men would graciously key into the Lagos Ankara Carnival and Festival 2018 Projects positively.

Speaking with journalists the paragon of beauty spouse of the convener of 2018 LAFEST MRS. ANTONIA OMOBOLANLE OLADUNJOYE said that firstly she gives thanks, praises and adoration to GOD almighty for the uncommon graces he bestows on her lovable husband – Wole to dream up this audible Ankara Festival project she said that she is particularly appreciative for all the guests that honored the invites sent out to them. Speaking with journalists the General Overseer of Prayer Banquet International Church, Abuja, Philip Madubueze said that the convener of 2018 LAFEST is a spiritual son to him adding that is the reason he came in from Abuja to offer prayers to the trinity for favors, protection of all and sundry. He concurs that the press conference has really recorded good outing and success as he wishes the convener OLADUNJOYE good sound of body, soul, and mind and that the government involvement in the LAFEST project should be speedily embraced.
