SURVEYOR KASIM

Speaking
with journalists at the inaugural Annual workshop and business seminar with the
theme “The realities of flooding and its menace: How safe is your Home? The
Lagos state coordinator of women in surveying (WIS) surveyor Folasade Kasim
said that they want to make Lagos State flood free.
Speaking further she said
that as a Lagos state civil servant, and a surveyor she knows what happens wherever
it rains in Lagos as she the authorities and policy makers to be adequately
informed on what to do to prevent flood when the rains come down, because Lagos
state is an island surrounded with waters.
Speaking again, surveyor Kasim said
that their projection is to make Lagos state a flood free as well as encourage
the younger women surveyors to rise up with the profession so that by the grace
of God they will rise to the peak of their careers. The Lagos state coordinator
of women in surveying (WIS) said that they go to the secondary schools to drum to
the female students to study surveying in the tertiary institutions, as she
said that surveyors are intelligent people. She said that her tenure as a Lagos
coordinator is for two years.
Speaking with journalists the chief Imam of
Jamaliya Ismalic Society (My beauty) Abdullahi Akinbode said that the surveying
profession is a very thriving profession that God Himself establishes the
profession through Prophet Moses of the old Israel.
He said that he commended
surveyor Folashade Kasim and her team for the wisdom applied in choosing the
theme of the inaugural Annual workshop and Business seminar “The realities of
flooding and its menace : How safe is your Home ? The chief Imam Akinbode said
that the government and all stakeholders should positively and uncommonly
support the women in surveying (WIS) so that their dreams of battering the
society would be achieved.
Speaking with journalists a high flyer in the
surveying profession Dr. Kayode Olumutemi said that the woman in surveying has
really done well with her Inaugural Annual Workshop and Business Seminar.
He
said that the surveying profession is male dominated sector, he praises and
encourages women in surveying who have chosen and studied surveying at the tertiary
institutions. He said that those who are claiming to be estate surveyors are
not estate surveyors but that they are estate valuers, all those parading
themselves as quantity surveyors, but that are cost analysts. He said that in
other dimes it is not like that but, he adduces that very shortly all these
hassles would be sorted out once and for all for the betterment of surveying profession.
Speaking with the journalists the guest speaker, the CEO Geetee Surveys Consult Nigeria
Ltd surveyor (Dr) Njar Getrude Nnanjar said that she really praised God Almighty
that women in surveying of Lagos state branch deem fit to choose her as the
guest speaker. She said that the theme is really okay because of the
environmental situations of Lagos state as an island.
She said that surveying profession
is one profession that is very educative and puts bread on the table of the
practitioners. She said that the builders cannot successfully carry on building
projects without the input of surveyors. She said that now that the age of
digitalization of applications are on that surveyors do make use of remote
sensing from wherever the practitioners are: she particularly praised the Lagos
State coordinator surveyor Kasim and her team for the educative events, she
said that the police makers and all other stakeholders should as matter of
empowering women in surveying should support them positively.
Speaking to the
journalist the medical Director, Optimal Cancer care Foundation Dr. Femi Olaleye
said that they came to deliver a lecture on Cervical and Breast Cancers because
many women are ignorant of the killer disease called Cancer.
He postulated that
the cervical cancer could be managed adequately when there is early
intervention. He said that the killer disease kills women on a daily basis, he
said that his Optimal cancer care foundation is out to help lots of women who
lives with such ailment. Optimal Cancer care Foundation is associated with
compassion,care and Hope.
The Lagos State Chambers of Commerce and Industries (LCCI)
Alausa Ikeja, Lagos played a host to women in surveying, gave out awards to
deserving distinguished personages who have contributed positively to humanity.
