EID-UL-FITRI AT 20 LOCATIONS

Speaking
as the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of home affairs, Dr. Abdulhakeem
AbdulLateef at Agege Local Government Area Maternity Sango, Agege, Lagos at the
celebration of EID-UL-FITRI, the Hon. Commissioner Dr. Abdulhakeem AbdulLateef
said that it gave him great pleasure to welcome all and sundry to year 2018
Eid-Ul-Fitri celebration which was been observed simultaneously at 20 locations
across the State, adding that these festivals were held at the State House, a centralized
arrangement did not allow a vast majority of the populace especially the class
of the people whose attendance were mostly required to participate as HE. The
Governor of Lagos State a man of his words as he keeps promises.
Speaking
to the audience through a Director at the Home Affairs Ministry, lagos State
who read the speech prepared by the Hon. Commissioner Dr. Abdulhakeem
AbdulLateef as he said as part of the strategies of the governor was to deepen
his policy of inclusive governance when he did promise to decentralize the
celebrations of Eid-Ul-Fitri and Christmas and that in 2017, these great and
holy festivals as well as Eid-Ul-Kabir were held for the first time in each of
the 20 local government areas, thus the paramount reason for bringing the
celebration of Eid-Ul-Fitri to their doorsteps was to make possible the
participation of those that are likely to left behind in the celebration
especially the needy, the less privileged, the very young and the very old as
this was in the spirit of Ramadan Kareem.
The
Hon. Commissioner said that, His Excellency is pleased with the ways Muslims in
Lagos State practice Islam according to the Holy Qu’ran and Lagosians are
prayerful, tolerant, hospitable, loving and caring as these are the characters
distinguish them and under score our uniqueness, adding that His Excellency,
the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode does not discriminate
in any form as he supports freedom of religion and Lagos is largely safe in his
hands and Lagosians would continue to thrive from his good governance adding
that participatory governance could only be reinforced if everybody registers
and collects the Permanent Voters Card (PVC) as well as use the PVC to support
continuity of good governance.
Speaking
to the audience the First Lady of Lagos State, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode through the
spouse of the Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government Area, Hon. Egunjobi
said that Ramadan is the month of prayers, blessings and during which all and
sundry are expected to draw closer to God and pray always as the 30 days
fasting has rounded off. She said they have many reasons to give thanks to
Almighty Allah and as well as appreciate His Divine Favour on Lagos State and
residents, adding that they witnessing an era of good relationship between
Muslims and Christians in the State.
Speaking
further, the First Lady of Lagos State, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode said that because
of good relationship between Muslims and Christians in the State, the State is
massively recording good governance of dividends of democracy as the State
enjoys enduring and satisfactory level of peace, unity, improvement were been
felt at the home fronts, communities, Local Government Areas and Local Council
Development Areas as well as there is a adequate security of lives and
properties.
Speaking
with Iconblaze Magazine Online, the Coordinator of Ambode Amazon, Coimrade
Tawakalitu Ajoke Balogun said that Ambode Amazon is a group of women who
unanimously supports His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Lagos State,
Akinwunmi Ambode with his policies of making Lagos State working effectively
and efficiently for the overall good of all Lagosians. She said that, they are
supporting Governor Ambode for continuity in the office come February 2019
general elections, adding that the All Progressive Congress (APC) has actually
provided the dividends of democracy for the Lagosians as in the provision of
good roads network, health care delivery, transportation, employments of
numerous persons into various sectors of the State economy.
Comrade
Balogun said that Governor Ambode has proved the doubting Thomasses that he has
the sharp eclatic intelligence to govern the State. Comrade Balogun advised
every electorate to make sure he or she gets the Permanent Voters Card (PVC)

Progressive Congress (APC) Party Chairman. Hon. Babatunde Azeez said that the

that they have their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) for the February 2019 general
elections.
The
event had a quiz competition for school children and the quiz competition was

and the honorable Commissioner of Ministry of Home Affairs, Dr. Abdulhakeem
AbdulLateef for putting the event together. He thanked the Governor for the new
overhead bridge the government of Lagos State is constructing at Pen Cinema
axis and other dividends of democracy Governor Ambode and his cabinet has
provided for all and sundry.
