Ota, Ogun State, Dr. David Oyedepo as a Chief Host C-ICADI- 4th
Covenant International Conference on African Development issues with a theme
“The Challenge of Leadership: Driving Africans Future says that he has one vote
constitutionally to cast for any candidate of his choice adding that he would
never vie for any political office(s). He says, that the church has started
seven days fast for the rescue of Nigeria (October 22nd – 28th,
2018) for the purposes of presenting Nigeria and her entire citizenry to the
thrones of God Almighty Father so that the forth coming 2019 General Elections
could produce good Leaders with Leadership Streaks that would be elected by the
electorate.
Speaking
again with the media he discloses that his mandates are meant for the entire
globe where leaders with right trainings are raised up for the goodness of all
and sundry adding that with good leadership streaks in place that uncommon
democratic values would be largely enshrined so that the dividends of democracy
will be provided for all and sundry.
Speaking
further, Dr. Oyedepo believes that with the Holy Spirit of God in all human
beings that Africans must definitely pulled out from the woods, of corruption,
poverty, bad Leadership who lined up their pockets with public funds to the
detriment of the down trodden masses.
Speaking
to the participants the host of the (C-ICADI) 2018 Vice Chancellor of Covenant
University Ota, Ogun State. Professor Aaron Atayero said the Current Human
Development Index (HDI ) of African
nations after decades of independence
leaves much to be desired adding that contrary to the lofty post – independence
expectation, as several African Countries are still heavily Challenged with
underdevelopment fastened by civil wars and undemocratic, political leadership,
as well as weak politics, economics and social institutions adding that, both
skilled and unskilled young Africans are at great risks to their lives.
Speaking
to the participants, Chairman, Conferences Organizing Committee Professor Aize
Obayan says, that the theme of C-CADI 2018 “The Challenge of the Leadership:
Driving Africa’s Future adding that is really strategic in its focus as it
touches the nerve center of the bane of the challenges Africa has been through
as this is a challenge of leadership.
Speaking
further she says that C-CADI 2018 is coming right on the heels of the
anniversary of Covenant University’s 16 Founder’s day, 21st October
2002 adding that the conference interrogates issues of advancement, leadership
and governance on the African Continent, while addressing strategic concerns of
important relevance’s to African Development, Hence the theme of the conference
aptly describes the real times of the leaders and the followers.
Speaking
again, the chairman conference organizing committee professor Obayan told the
participant that Dr. Oyedepo, Chancellor Covenant University said that the
greatest challenge of Africa in the 21 Century is leadership adding that
Covenant University was founded with the compelling vision and mission to make
viable contributions to the leadership
development as encapsulated in her motto ( Raising a new generations of Leaders
adding that the entire thrust of Covenant University focus is to raise leaders
in all fields of human applications thereby seeking to address issues of
leadership gaps in all fronts a task which has been driven with uncommon
streaks within the CU system right from beginning in 2002.
Speaking
again to the participants she says that one of the reasons for this 4th
C-CADI is to look at issues in the African development ambit with a view to
proffering solutions as a special feature of C-CADI 2018 is the broad theme
addressing “The Challenge of Leadership: Driving Africa’s Future.
Speaking
to the participants conference chairperson Miss. Cecilia Akintomide made in
inspiring submission where she used several models of nations leadership
globally to drive home her remarks.
She
made a good submission of whom had seen the Queen of Sheba, Hallie Salasia the
civil wars between Ethiopia and Eritrea and the drought that shook the whole
globe in the 1980s adding that within six months of assuming leadership
position the new prime minister changed all the old order and embraced love,
peace and forgave all and sundry as he opened the detention camps and prisons
and freed all political detainees as he gave his olive hands to his brothers
Eritreans.
She
further said that India was one time the world capital of poverty but as this
21st century that Indians have pulled out from poverty levels to a
comfortable levels of economic freedom and progress.
She
made a good example of China also, that China was one time backward in the real
sense of economy index development, but, today all those hardship eras had
become a thing of the past because the leadership thought it right and applied
all it takes to bring out good results of administrable economics and all that.
She
told the participants that God has blessed Nigeria with natural resources and
Manpower, but, very sadly the leadership does not have the political will to
carry out right decisions as at when due adding that Nigeria is ruled by
corrupt leaders who are always interested in themselves their immediate family
members and man Fridays .
She
again said if all African leaders would be lovable to the down trodden masses
and do the right thing at the right time that corruption, poverty Civil Wars,
insurgencies would no longer see the light of day.
Speaking
to the participant whom are majorly academic and industry based stake holders
Her Excellently, Mrs. Joyce Banda former President of Malawi as the key note
speaker delivered a thought provoking lectures on the themes of C-CADI 2018
Conference which is “The challenge of Leadership: Driving Africa’s Future and
of a truth she did not disappoint the eclatic audience having been on the
leadership position in Malawi for decades. She is the first female president of
Malawi from 2012-2014 and second female president in the entire continent of
Africa after Ellen Sirleaf Johnson of Liberia.
She
actually employed several models to drive home her lectures to the uncommon
participants who came from all walks of life.
Speaking
the eclatic audience with a goodwill message the Royal Majesty professor
Adeyemi Obalanlnge, the Olota of Ota Kingdom did a wonderful and scholarly
submission on leadership adding that good leadership streaks do normally
produce workable results for the leaders and followers.
Speaking
with Iconblaze Magazine Online Portal. Obalanlnge the Olota of Ota Kingdom said
that good leadership packages the entire environment adding that the Federal expressway
connecting Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State is in terrible situation that
causes traffic hold ups for valuable man hours which automatically decreases
the economy index on human development.
He pragmatically concurs that
the leaders should have the strong characters, strong courage and strong
political will so as to making sure dividends of democracy would be provided
for the entire citizenry.
His Royal Majesty Prof.
Obalanlnge, Olota of Ota Kingdom was a lecturer at the Crescent University
Abeokuta, Ogun State and when he rounded off his goodwill message he was
uncommonly accorded a Royal Majesty Ovation. Panel discussion followed suit
immediately after the tea break and the moderator was Professor Sherriff
Folarin who also doubled as the compere of the morning session. The panels of
discussants were Drs. Monisoye Afolabi, Adebisi Adewale, Adebukola Oyewunmi and
Messer’s Femi Taiwo and John Oyewale. Of a truth the panelists did not
disappoint the audience with their sharp and insightful analysis on the subject
matter the keynote speaker Her Excellency Mrs banda raise in her delivery of
the lectures.
The chief Transporter of
African Transport Initiative Austen Uzim presented an insightful lectures to
the audience detailing what ATI is day to bring education to the door step of African child adding that
they have all inclusive education, digital access, policy maker as he says that education cannot
be quantified because all African child must be captured with education as education
cannot wait adding that if leadership issues must be tackled it must come
through inclusive education. He says that they had repackage technology
methodology and this makes education all important to all and sundry adding
that education gives one great productivity on daily basis, but, very sadly
Uzim says that over 13.2 millions of children are not schools which he believes
is a very big challenge to solving vie leadership problems fails by Africans.
He says that about 1.9 million Children at Internally Displaced Persons camps
are not attending schools her queried what a colossal waste on human
development index. He said that they teach the children financial laterally,
financial intelligence and all basic rudiment and levels of reading writing and
appreciating learning schemes. Uzim told the audience that they have well over
700 persons as members of ATI and that they are in 54 countries of African
States.
