DOCTORS DESIRE A BETTER LIFESTYLE – DR. SAHEED

Speaking as
the chairman of Medical Guide Association of Lagos state Government employed
medical doctors (an affiliate of the Nigerian Medical association (NMA) Lagos
State branch at the Annual General Meeting 2018 at Lagos Chambers of Commerce
and Industry (LCCI ) Alausa Ikeja
Lagos, Dr. Kehinde Saheed said that doctors desire a better lifestyle as
members of the society.
Speaking
further Dr Saheed said that the theme of the scientific conference (Maximizing Earning Potentials for
Doctor’s in Nigeria and the sub theme one, planning for Retirement: Getting It
Right From The Start, And Sub Theme Two, Doctors And Their Health: Focusing On
Reducing
Stress To Prevent Depression) had been carefully chosen in order to
bring to the fore the potential which existed in their environment for
practitioners, within and outside the guild to improving their incomes which
inevitably leads to higher quality of a better lifestyle and would
automatically reduce the mass exodus of doctors from the country.
Speaking
again as the chairman of the medical guild Dr. Saheed in pursuing the noble
goal of a better quality of lifestyle for members of the guild that they had
also carefully chosen the sub-themes,
planning for retirement: Getting it right from the start, as well as doctors
and their health: which focuses on the reduction of stress adding that
they believed both Sub themes would impact greatly on the lives of the
practitioners within and outside the association as both of them were intended
to programmatically look into the enhancement of a good and most qualitative of
lifestyle of doctors on the long run.
Speaking
further as the chairman of the Medical Guild Dr. Saheed said that they hoped
that all participants would benefit immensely from the discussions adding that the
past year had not been without events, but they remained grateful to the
current administration in Lagos State for avoiding the kind of rancorous
relationship with what the government had been experiencing in the past.
Speaking again to the participants Dr. Saheed said that officers committee had
continued to work to ensure that hiccups which came up from time to time were
quietly, but, firmly approached and sorted out adding that they had worked to
consolidate on the achievements of the immediate pat officers committee
including continued regularization of doctors not properly placed at their
right grade level ensuring that doctors could undergo residency training while
in service and as well as right career progression and promotion for members.
Speaking as the guest of honour Mr and Dr. (MRS) Ibijoke Sanwoolu, Dr. (MRS)
Sanwoolo who wore two caps on her head, one as the Medical Director of Shomolu
General Hospital, Shomolu Lagos and two she represented her husband Babajide
Sanwoolu who was on campaign train of All Progressives Congress (APC ) and she did say that the medical Guild Annual General meeting 2018
and its theme and sub theme were really apt and timely adding that the powers
that be really got to critically and carefully look into the needs of medical
doctors as they too are an integral part of the society that also deserved good
and qualitative better lifestyle. She enjoined all the participants to sit back
and relax since the Keynote speaker Dr. (MRS) Pamela Ajayi the Managing Director
of Synlab Diagnostic centre had the prazzy and crazzy to deliver the Lecture,
lucidly and cerebrally to the participants.
Speaking to
the participants the one time chairman Medical Guild Lagos State and now the Chairman of Nigerian Medical Association
(NMA) Lagos State branch Dr. Oseni Salua said that the theme and sub themes
were carefully chosen by the members of Local Organizing committee (HOC )
adding that the earning potentials of doctors should be programmatically worked
out favorably for the practitioners.
He said
that the medical practitioners as an integral part of the society desires to be
properly taken care of by all the powers that be, be it Federal Government,
State Governments, local Government Areas Institutions, Non-Governmental
organizations (NGOS).
He called
on those handing health care delivery matters to effectively and efficiently Marshall
out good working conditions for the practitioners adding that, that would
enable the practitioners to function optimally to the patients at various health
care facilities.
Speaking as
the guest lecturer DR. (MRS) Ajayi did not disappoint the participants with her
lucid presentations of the topic Maximizing
Earning Potentials For Doctors in Nigeria.
She did employ many models with
which she drove home her lectures to the audience and of a truth the
participants were treated with high levels of breakthroughs. Handling the sub
theme one Director General Lagos State Pension commission Mrs. Folashade
Onanuga again treated the medical practitioners of how they really got to start
to plan their retirement modules while they were working as an employees of the
Federal Government, State governments and Local Government Areas adding that it
would be very saddened that after putting 35 years of service or attainment of
60 years old, a practitioner would retire into hopelessness.
Speaking further she said that if
the practitioner would retire into hopelessness therefore the entire thirty
five years in service would be meaningless . Speaking further she said that if the
practitioners started planning of retirement from the very day one he or she was employed that on
retirement, it would be a joyful voyage. Speaking to the audience with sub
theme two Doctors, and Their Health, focusing on reduction stress to Prevent depression,
Head of department, psychiatry, Head of department, psychiatry, LASU COM/LASUTH
Dr. Olurotimi Coker did not disappoint the audience with his understandable
presentation adding that all medical practitioners really got to focus on
reducing stress which helps them to prevent depression, because, he noted that
any medical practitioner(s) who worked himself or herself to a cracking point
or level of falling into depression, that such a medical practitioner(s) would
not function optimally to his or her patients in wards and all that.
Speaking with Iconblazemagazine
online portal President Medical Women Association of Nigeria (MWAN) Dr.
Omowunmi Bakare said that the Medical Guild Annual General meeting 2018 and
scientific conference came up at a time medical matters had been heavily down
played by the powers that be adding that the theme of the Medical said ‘Maximizing Earning Potentials For Doctors
in Nigeria) and she says that they have 30 branches of Medical Women Association of
Nigeria and that they were 40 years old last year 2017 and that the
association would be celebrating her 100 years old at New York City United State
of America next year 2019. Medical Guild Annual General Meeting Continues For
One Week and would be rounding off with the Gala Night dinner.
