NCS @ 40

The Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) has proudly and pleasantly marked its 40th anniversary with a training at Kano Hall NECA House, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos with a theme (NSC at 40, Lagos Chapter Road Map In The Next Dispensation). The 40th anniversary of Nigeria Computer Society Training gathered who-is-who in the Inherent  Communication Technology (ICT).
Industry to rub minds together and pragmatically take cursory study of what they had been through in the last 40 years. The All Progressive Congress (APC) deputy governor candidate of March 9th 2019 Gubernatorial and house assembles elections nation wide His excellency Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat (KOH) attended the 40th anniversary of Nigeria Computer Society (NCS).
Speaking with journalists he said that they know the uncommon importance of technology to any given society, community and nation adding that data collation dissemination are very, very, very vital to governments be it federal government, state government and local government.
Speaking again His excellency KOH said that the policy implementation and execution are always clashing here and there, but, be it as may, he concurs that huge importance of ICT on education, health, transportation, smart and mega cities can never be swept under the carpet. He agrees that NCS had really affected the ICT world in the last 40 years of its operations in the landscape of Nigeria – since (1979 – 2019).
He said that this is the 21st century and NCS must move down to schools to catch the very segment the smart and mega cities belong to adding that the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) community elders must be involved in the policy implementation of teaching the pupils of ICT.
Speaking with iconblaze magazine online portal Deputy President of Nigeria Computer Society Chinenye Mba-Uzoukwu said they had come a long way in bringing people from all professionals that needed data to function optimally. He said that they work in conjunction with the Ministry of Science and Technology adding that they work in schools, CAPADAN local contents, oil and gas, Nepa, Healthcare delivery, cyber security, cyber crime adding that it has been an amazing experiences in the last 40 years.
He said that their society has really, really, really affected all and sundry in the ICT world despite that their jobs are not advertized loudly adding that their society captures the Youth Team, Local Government, State Government and Federal as he concluded that their goals are to build on the last 40 years ago. Speaking with Icoblaze magazine online portal Dr. Titilola Akinlade said that Nigeria Computer Society of Lagos chapter can help the government to accelerate data gathering which would uncommonly provide all the needed information on Transportation, Education, Health, Entertainment, school children, school teachers adding that the school children and school teachers should be adequately trained with the trends of ICT so that these children could favourably compete with their counter parts globally and in like manner the school teachers should go for ICT trainings from time to time to enable them have the real knowledge of the 21st ICT applications.
She said that the government should focus on local content always not brining foreigners to handle the jobs Nigerians can effectively and efficiently do adding that the Chinese and Indian, make use of their local contents on all their packages.
She said again that the local contents packages should be engaged with the people who are familiar with environment and she agreed that ICT would actually make Lagos State a mega and smarter city in no distant time.
She said that His Excellency KOH who is a member of Nigeria Computer Society added his voice during the training at Kano Hall, NECA, that the ministry of science and technology of Lagos State would heavily partner with Nigeria Computer Society.
She said that His Excellency KOH has the forthright to push up the agenda of Nigeria computer society to government of the state and she concludes that the children need to be ICT complaint because the ICT world belong to their era in all ramifications and as well as their school teachers.
Ganiyu Gboyega is the Lagos Chapter Chairman of NCS and he is uncommonly media friendly.
