APC CLEARS LAGOS HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY POLLS.

The All Progressives Congress, APC had reportedly
won all seats declared so far in the Lagos House of Assembly polls held on a
Saturday 9th March 2019. Speaker of the assembly representing Agege
constituency one Mudashu Ajayi Obasa wae relected.
Also Oluyinka Ogundemu was relected for the Agege
constituency 2 Obasa was declared winner by the returning officer for Agege
constituency one Professor Saibu Olufemi Muibor of the University of Lagos
after he polled 17,665 votes to defeat his closet rival from People’s
Democratic Party (PDP) Auwalun Taure Maude who scored 4,743 votes. Ogundiru was
returned to the house to represent Agege constituency 2 by the returning
officer, an associate professor Anthony Kayode Adebayo from the University of Lagos. Again, the APC
did win Lagos mainland house of assembly constituency one and two, beating the
main opposition PDP. The returning officer for Lagos mainland constituency one,
Dr. Adetoun Adenuga revealed that the APC candidate Ajani Owolabi polled 17,239
votes to beat his closet rival Shakiru Agunbiade who managed to gather 3,568
votes.
The returning officer of Lagos mainland house of
assembly constituency two Dr. Adebola Odubanjo declared the APC candidate Hon.
Moshood Oshun the winner with a total votes cast 8,896 to beat his closet rival
Kehinde Oyenuba who poorly secured 3,259 votes. Again, the All Progressives
Congress (APC) coasted to victory in Epe, clinching the two seats available as
candidates of the party did win constituency one and two in the local
government area. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) did
declare Messrs Abiodun Tobun and Oluwadahunsi
Ogunkelu winners of Epe one and two.
The returning officer for Epe one Dr. Aaron Adeoye
from university of Lagos made the declaration on a Sunday morning at INEC
collation centre in Epe at 3:30 am adding that Tobun did come out as the winner
with a total votes cast 19,028 to defeat Mrs. Elizabeth Oluwatoyin, a candidate
of PDP who poorly polled 2,540 votes. Again the INEC returning officers
similarly declared APC candidates victorious in the constituency one and two as
Hon. Selonji David the incumbent APC law maker was pleasantly declared winner
of the Balogun constituency, while Hon. Ibrahim Ray Ade also of APC was
re-elected for the Badagry constituency one.
Declaring the election results at the INEC collation
centre in Ibereko, the constituency one Mrs. Bosede Abiodun did announce that
Seloniji polled 14,533 total votes cast for him to defeat his closet rival
Alani Ajose of PDP who got 5,209 votes. As Mr. Kareem Bestoyin from the
department of social science, University of Lagos Akoka, Yaba, Lagos and the
returning officer of badagry constituency two did decleare Ibrahim Layode of
APC as the winner. Layode scored at total votes cast 12,098 to proudly defeat
his closet rival Gbenga Fayemi with 3,030 votes.
The Nollywood actor Desmond Olushola Elliot of APC
also won the surulere constituency one as the returning officer Dr. Bolajoko
Dixon-Ogbechi from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos declared at the
surulere local government collation centre lagos and she did say that Hon.
Elliot won with a total votes cast 15,375 while his closet rival of People’s
democratic Party (PDP) Benjamine Olasunkanmi scored 3,628 votes.
