HOUSE HOTELS, CONFERECE CENTRE PLAYED HOST TO 2019 NOLLY FANS ACHIEVEMENT
AWARDS

The prestigious White House Hotels and
Conference Centre, Toyin Street, Ikeja, Lagos has uncommonly played host of the
2019Nollyfans Achievement Awards.
Speaking as the convener of the event
Steve Akpos said that the Nollyfans Achievement Awards (NAA) is an yearly
bestowal of excellence unto surpassing achievements on individuals in various
walks of life whose works had tremendously affected all and sundry over the
years adding that NAA is also poised at recognizing experts as well as some
uncommon persons within and the outside the shores of Nigeria in education,
business, governance, entertainment for their unrelenting efforts and good
roles in building an egalitarian society, industry and sustaining the growth of
nation to her measuring data of progresses and successes.
Speaking further Akpos said that they
used the medium to give credence to professionalism, hard work, and as well as
celebrate their heroes of their time adding that the platform had enabled them
more importantly to crown the efforts of couples, businessmen and women, media
practitioners, NGO’S, religious and public leaders et’al.
Speaking to the audience Lekan Otufodurin
of Media Career Development Network said that journalists should do themselves
a whole of good if they properly cross checked the information they desire to
share with the public adding that journalism is all about information, education,
entertaining and making profits from the business to the society. He said that
social media has come to stay in the industry of news disseminating to the
general public, adding that all they dish out must correct for consumption.
He said that those on face book,
Instagram, WhatsAPP, Operal News et’al should endevour to publish the right and
correct information for the mass audience. He conluded that correct information
is a key to the development of any given society.
Speaking to the audience Mrs. Elizabeth
Ehigiamusoe a.k.a EHILIZ who delivered a lecture with the title “ Promoting
Peaceful Ambience for Youths Development” She says that the youths are the leaders of tomorrow and such as
that the present day governance need to provide the youths the necessary tools
with which the youths actually needed for developments and progresses.
She says that the government should
place premium of trust on the youths and as well as carry them along with their
developmental programmes adding that the older people needed the younger
persons do as the younger persons largely needed the elderly ones for so many
good recipes for economic development. She says that the future belongs to
youths and she categorically compared Nigeria and United States of America
(USA) adding that in Nigeria that average age of those that call the shots are
over 70 years whereas in the US the average age of those that call the shots
are within the ranges of 40 – 47 years, she said that Barak Obama became the
president of the US at 47 years old while Bill Clinton became the president at
42years old and John Kennedy became the youngest president in the annals of the
US politics at 40 years old.
She says that the US economic standing
at 16 trillion dollars while the whole of Africa states is less than one
trillion dollars. She pragmatically advocated that the youths should be allowed
to participate in on going politics so that their contributions could be used
to advance the economic and the generality of the down trodden masses.
The 2019 Nolly fans Achievement Awards
Creditably awarded 15 awardees with various
categories of awards. The Secondary school students who excelled in
English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry were so honoured and they were
Ezenwoke Ngozi Jennnifer who came top in Physics and Chemistry, Onyebuchi Uche
came top in Mathematics and Adeyemo Oluwabusolami Vanessa clinched first
position in English.
The event witnessed many side attraction
and stage effects with various comic reliefs and stage appearance performance and
Ehiliz herself the gospel artist Idol performed. The parents of the students,
that came top in English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry were extremely
gladdened that their children made them pleased with the outstanding
performances
They all gave praises and adorations to
God Almighty for the uncommon graces He granted to their children.
