Delta State – Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (DTS) /
NEWMAP) FOCAL NGO. Ebruke Onajite
– Esike told the participants at the one day workshop on Community
Sensitization Dialogue at the main auditorium of Ubulu primary school, Ubulu –
Uku kingdom that they will not share monies to any participant, because they
are accountable and transparent in the services they render to mankind.
At the
one day Community Sensitization Dialogue the participants were heavily and
pleasantly informed about all the ground breaking successes achieved so far in
the World Bank, Delta State and Nigeria Erosion and Water shed Management Project. (WB, DTS / NEWMAP) in Ubulu – Uku
kingdom adding that the FOCAL NGO had 60 % of achievement in the erosion
control of Onicha Okpe, Onicha – Uku, Ogbeani, Akpama, Udo, Ogbeofo, Akwa
quarters had been recorded.
He said that as soon as the personnel at World Bank
disburse resources for execution of the erosion control that works would
commence in earnest.
Speaking to the participants Ebruke
said that NEWMAP utilizes transparency and accountability in the delivery of
the intervention to the communities that needed to be attended to for effective
management Erosion Control.
Ebruke said that there has been introduction of
GIS, Design Engineers ESMP, LNA and RAP Consultants so that the world bank
would speed up actions adding the community has a greater roles to play in the
execution of the erosion control within the affected communities, Owa - Nta,
Ubulu – Uku kingdom, Jessie, Obomkpa et’al. Ebruke said that despite that NEWMAP
came in 2016 and FOCAL NGO came in 2017 that they still believed the project
would commence in no distant future.
He told the participants that the message
must be shared among all and sundry of the citizenry of Ubulu – Uku kingdom. Again
Ebruke said that teachers should be used for electoral matters as adhoc
staffers adding that the teachers know everyone within the community and as
such they would not support the rigging of the said election, but, for youth cropers,
they are not efficient to operate the card reader machines.
When the workshop
rose, many of the participants fielded questions and useful contributions so
that heavy elucidations of the project would be made public.
The facilitators cleared the airs
with answers to questions fielded.
