with his life for this 20 years unbroken democracy to come in the first
instance adding that the Economy, Justice, Health care delivery Issues,
Unempolyments, Housing matters et’al are still very starring in the faces of
generality of the down trodden masses.
He said that the June 12, 1993 annulment
of the presidential election was a very wicked act of the military junta when
retired General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida was the head of State adding that
the annulment of the freest, fairest peacefulest election ever since in the
history of Nigeria political turf.

allowed his late father Bashorun MKO Abiola to rule Nigeria for four years
adding that poverty would long been vanished from the economic system of the
nation.

has finally made June 12 National Democracy Day and as well as bestowing GCFR
on his late business mongul father. And again Alfa Lekan Abiola said that it
would be really good if the Presidency of All Progressive Congress (APC) could
declare his late father the president of Nigeria and that all his emoluments
and allowances be paid to his family.
Speaking at the 26th edition
of June 12 at the white house of chief MKO Abiola, the deputy Governor of Lagos
State Dr. Obafemi Hamzat who stood in for the governor of the state His
Excellency Babajide Olusola Sanwo Olu requested for a minute silence to be
observed for souls of late business Icon, his wives Alhaja Simbiat and Kudirat
and thereafter prayers were said on their behalf.
Dr. Hamzat said Lagos State
government was the very first state in the entire Nigeria political space to
declare June 12 a public holiday when Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu called the
shots between 1999 to 2007.
He noted that it was when Lagos State government
had largely promoted the richness and importance of June 12 that some states
from South West Geopolitical zones also gave credence to the June 12 struggle
adding that some states from the northern extraction also joined the band wagon
of declaring June 12 public holiday in their states.
He said that Lagos State government is also gladdened with the entire family of late chief MKO Abiola as the federal government had finally proclaimed June 12 a National Democracy Day nationwide. He said that furthermore in Lagos State that they would continue to promote the ideals and principles of June 12 and all that.
Speaking as guest speaker Prof. Patrick
Utomi of Lagos business school told the huge crowds with the theme: June 12:
Hope, 93 and Prospect of Democratic Prosperity and Political stability in
Nigeria.
Of a truth the erudite professor of Economics did not disappoint his
eclatic audience with his expositions of the theme where he kept asking
questions if those tenets and principles the Hope, 93 meant for Nigeria and
Nigerians had been actually achieved since the 20 years of the democratic rule
returned from the hands of jackbooted military junta.
The erudite professor of
economics Utomi sadly said that the poverty rates and ratios in the land is
unbelievably and that Hope, 93 were to address the issues of poverty and other
economic vices for the public good of the down trodden masses. He told the
audience that he visited Japan recently and in Japan he visited ministry of
economics, and trades so as to see things for himself as they the Japanese
operate with their economy indices and all that.
He said that he was so impressed of how
economic models are operated there, he queried why won’t Nigeria toe those
formidable lines of successes, progresses, growth et’al.
He said that the rate
of corruption in the land is alarming and because of the huge rate of
corruptions in the land, that nothing is working for the public good of the toiling
masses.
He said that until when the good spirited peoples of God would begin to
call the shots from all strata of government that is from the local government
Areas, State governments and the federal government herself that all the
ideals and principles of Hope, 93 would
largely not been achieved for the commoners of the land.
He said that democracy
is defined as the government of the people, for the people and by the people
adding that the 20 years of democratic rule in the land is not for the people
at all because the hawks had hijacked all the goodies to themselves, family
members and cronnies.
Speaking to the mammoth crowds at the conference hall of
late multi billionaire business mogul Bashorun MKO Abiola. Dr. Obigali
Okwesilieze one time minister of Education when former President Chief Olusegun
Matthew Aremu Okikiola Obasanjo called the shots between 1999 – 2007 and also a
presidential candidate for the general elections of February 2019 sadly told
the audience that 13 million Nigerians go to their beds without food on a daily
basis adding that the hawks at the corridors of power have brazenly denied the
commoners the opportunities of good things of life like, security, portable
drinking water, good health care delivery service, transportation, rule of law,
press freedom, good housing facilities, job creation and wealth creation et’al.
She said that China nation that was considered a third world nation three
decades ago had been able to pull out 800 million Chinese from poverty, lack
and wants, but, very sadly Nigerians are being emasculated by bad governance of
very few people who ordinarily are not qualified to govern the commoners.
Speaking to the audience comrade Barr. Mike Igin the electoral resident officer
of Akwa Ibom State who conducted the 2019 general elections painfully narrated
to the audience how he met with late chief MKO Abiola as a student union
president then adding that he flew in an aeroplane for the first time in the
private jet of late chief MKO Abiola.
He said that his first International
passport was procured for him by late Alhaja Kudirat Abiola adding that the
death of the uncommon husband and wife is personally painful to him because,
according to him, he says that he learnt a lot of good ideas, principles mores, morals from both of them.
He also narrated his
soured experiences from the just finished general elections of 2019 where those
who write elections result in their
bedrooms met a brick walls with his refusal to play along with them and soldiers,
navy, civildefence and other security operatives were drafted to guide and guard
his residence and his movements so that evil people would not hack him down
just like that.
He said that he wished that late chief MKO Abiola was given the
mandate he won to rule Nigeria adding that poverty would have been long
forgotten in the land.
