PHARM BELLO CHALLENGES PHARMACISTS TO
THINK OUT OF BOX

Speaking as
the guest speaker Pharm Inusa Bello, Executive Director of NTEL at the Pharmacy
villa of Pharmaceutical So ciety of Nigeria (PSN) Lagos State branch critically
challenged Pharmacists to think out of box with new ideas and ideals in growing
their pharmaceutical businesses. He harped on the theme of 2019 Scientific week
as ‘Leveraging on Digital Technology for Improved Patient care and Safety-----
A Descriptive Innovative Approach”.
He told his
colleagues that they should key into social media applications adding that the
creation of pharmaceutical apps would largely expand their frontiers as
pharmacists. He told them that they should take cursory ideas of creating Pharmacy
Apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and Youtube adding that the creation of
Pharmacology Apps would largely increase their customers, take care of their
patients and as well as putting more funds into their bank accounts.
He said that
what they needed is outreaches here and there, not these regular conferences
held all the times, yet, nothing significant achieved for the betterment of
themselves and humanity. He touched on Artificial intelligence, machine
intelligence, robort intelligence, Drones, block chains, virtual reality,
internet of things, adding that all of these social media applications would
uncommonly improve on the services the pharmacists render to their patients and
clients.
Pharm Bello
earnestly challenged his colleagues to pragmatically and critically buy into
the theme of the 2019 Scientific week.
Speaking as
the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria Lagos State Branch Chairman Pharm (Mrs.)
Adeniran Bolanle pleasantly presented a six – page thoroughly researched
welcome address to the participants. In the six pages thought provoking
address, she made aloud submission that a clarion call for the appointment of a
presidential committee on Drug Distribution in Nigeria and as well as setting
up of workable structures for sustained Healthcare system in Nigeria. Her
academic presentation stimulated the audience to really know what the
challenges their profession faces from the powers that be. The 2019 PSN Lagos
state awarded award for excellence to the following awardees in different
categories. For public service award Pharm Margret Oluwayemisi Adedapo, Pharm
Captain Haruna Ajiya Mbaya, and Pharm (Mrs.) YewandeOlorunsola. For Community
Society Award Pharm Olaide Abimbola Soetan for NHE, Pharm Chris Ehime who
clinched the morning session and Pharm Adenike Adenuga. Pharm Adepoju Kehinde
Philips directed young Pharmacy service award while pharm. Prof (Mrs.) Bolajoko
Ajoke Aina received the Academic Pharmacy Service Award.
The Elbe
Pharmaceutical Company presented her AMATEM FOR TESOFTGEL to the audience
throughShabi Abdul – Rasaaq Adesola, Marketing Manager and of a truth he did
not disappoint the audience with his pharmacology presentation and thereafter
the endosment exercise of the AMATEM FORTE SOFTGEL by the chairman of PSN Lagos
state branch pharm (Mrs.) Adeniran and the entire participants witnessed the
endorsement ceremony.
Speaking
with journalists Kayode Kolade an Executive of Elbe Pharm said that the
Association of Community Pharmacists (ACPN) had also endorsed Amatem forte Softgel
at Kano submit and here at the Lagos state branch of PSN 2019 Scientific week
the same Amatem forte Softgel has been publicly endorsed for the use of
generality of the citizenry adding that Amatem Forte Softgel has advantages of
checkmating malaria as the slogan is “Say No to Malaria, Yes to Life.
Speaking
with journalists pharm Captain Mbaya a recipient of public service award said
that he was gladdened to be so awarded by the PSN of Lagos state branch which
he is an active member adding that his love for pharmacy profession dated back
when he was an infant.
He said that
his father wanted him to study medicine, but, he chose to study pharmacy,
adding that when he filled his JAMB form, he chose Pharmacy first choice and second
choice Pharmacy for for both Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and University of
Jos. And, again, he said both Universities offered him admission, but, he went
through Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria for his degree programs.
He said that
Pharmacy is a noble course and he encourages all and sundry to study pharmacy
because it is an interesting and pleasantly noble.
Speaking
with media Pharm Soetan of NHC Pharmaceuticals Limited said that she was indeed
pleased to be so awarded with Community Service Award adding that NHC had
already began to do business through E Drug Supply to their patients and
clients. She said she concurred with all the guest speaker Pharm Bello adduced
to the audience that it is high time pharmacists should create their own
application of block chains and all that. Good will messages were rendered by
the Ogun State PSN Chairman Pharm Lawrence Ayelabola and of Oyo State PSN
Chairman Pharm Abiodun Ajibade.
