IGBO SPEAKING COMMUNITY ABORU CELEBRATES NEW YAM FESTIVAL ET’AL

The Igbo speaking community Aboru in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State had pleasantly celebrated the 2019, New Yam festival which is known as    (Iri – Iji) ceremony.
Speaking with media at his palatial Palace His Royal Highness Eze (Dr.) Ephraim Chinwuwa Nnaemeka, Eze Ndilgbo of Aboru Kingdom, Ozo Akpalata of Urum Town in Awka North Local Government Area, Anambra State, Oke – Osisi Ndigbo said that the new yam festival is a uncommon thanksgiving to Almighty God on Heaven above and their forebears for the unimaginably blessings on them though out the period of planting seasons in their various farm adding that the sower sows the seed yam into the soil, but, how the seed yam developes and brings forth commendable harvest is only know to God Himself who waters both the sower and sowed seed yam.
He said the new yam festival is a ceremony that translates love and magnanimity flowing from all and sundry with fun fair like Ogene cultural dance display which sends heavy thanksgiving to their forebears adding that Igbo-man is a unique human being who is always striving to excel in any worthy and noble ventures he or she finds himself or herself.
Speaking again he said that Igbo man is a highly enterprising human being who is uncommonly hard working and always determined to succeed profitably in business, as he also opined that Igbo man is a very proud human being who does not go about the nooks and crannies begging for alms as a means of survival. He said that leadership is from God above as he concurs that there have been some challenges facing him from time to time, but, he avers that the grace of God protects him always thereby he is able to govern his subjects nicely.
Speaking again Eze Ndi – Igbo of Aboru Kingdom, Ozo Akpala of Urum town in Awka North LGA Anambra State, Oke Osisi Ndi Igbo HRH Eze Dr. Nnaemaka said the 20 years of democracy of Alliance for Democracy, (AD) Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and All Progressive Congress (APC) that has been calling the shots at the government house has not remembered the large number of peoples living in Aboru as there are no dividends of democracy in all fronts adding that whenever it rains the areas are heavily covered with floods.
He appealed to the powers that be to quickly and speedily come to Aboru area of Lagos State and begin to show its presence. The Iri Iji festival also witnessed the installation of Prince Emmanuel Jaja as the Onowu of Aboru Kingdom with lots Prazziness and Crazziness and with his installation he is now the traditional Prime Minister that would assist HRH Eze Dr. Nnaemeka to rule the Igbo speaking persons in Aboru kingdom.
The new yam festival also witnessed the investiture of HRH Eze (Dr.) Nnaemeka as an Ambassador of United Noble Rescue Service (UNRS) with a colourful ceremony thereby making him a special marshal that has the unfettered rights to administer justice at all times. The new yam festival also witnessed the Ezinwane Amaka Igbo speaking community Aboru, Lagos women wing entertained the audience with heavy colourful cultural dance display.
The new yam festival was spiritually handed over to God with prayers from Samuel Ikpeama of Winners Chapel International and after his prayers, he added exhortations that he titled (My Rights to Divine Health).
He said that God has provided good health for all and sundry through (Exodus 23:25). The climax of the ceremony was when the roasted yam and mixed with blackish ingredients udar, uttazzie, and all that of oil were prayed for by the Eze Nnaemeka who called upon the names of their forebears for more blessings upon them all and the new yam was served out to all and sundry. 20 traditional red caps chiefs graciously participated at the 2019 New Yam festival of Igbo speaking people of Aboru Kingdom.
