5TH NIGERIA’S CONSTRUCTION
INDUSTRY HALL OF FAME 2019

Speaking
to the audience at the function suite of Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Bank
Anthony Mobolaji road, Ikeja, Lagos, the Publisher of Construction and
Engineering Digest Kenneth Odusola – Stevenson pleasantly told the inductees
and the general public that their event holds every two years adding that the
next edition shall hold in the year 2021.
He
congratulated all the inductees for their uncommon roles and services that they
had rendered to the society as engineers in the past. He particularly showered
encomiums on the quintessential builder one Bldr. Otunba Fatai Isola Osikoya
who constructed the Masha bridge in Surulere, Lagos many decades ago. The
chairman of the event His Royal Highness Engr. Otis Anyaeji did give an
inspiring opening remarks whereby he pleasantly congratulated all the inductees
into the Hall of Fame of Nigeria’s construction industry and he prayed all
inductees would continue to keep the flag flying higher in the discharge of
their roles and services as engineers.
Speaking
as the guest of honour His Excellency Mr. Babatunde Fashola, Hon. Minister of
Works and Housing who was ably represented by Sarah Alawode Federal Controller
Federal Ministry of Works and Housing Sector told the audience that the
minister himself wished to grace the event, but, owing to state functions at
Abuja he detailed the federal controller FMW&H sector to stand in for him.
He
congratulated the organisers and the inductees as they journey with life’s
application. The distinguished speakers did not disappoint the participants in
all ramifications as they effortlessly delivered inspiring papers and the
speakers Arc. Mrs. Mobolaji Adeniyi, Engr. Ifeoluwa Oyedele, Hon. Engr.Dane
Osim – Asu Commissioner of works Cross River state, ESV Adediji Oyebode and
Bldr. Bola Ka’Oje and of a truth the speakers did pleasantly well with their
presentations.
Speaking
with media the Hon. Engr. Osim – Asu said that Calabar one time was the capital
of Nigeria, but, very sadly he said that the South South States are heavily
marginalized by the powers that be.
He
said that there is no trunk A road in the South South compare to the North
adding that the South South States are fatted chickens that lay the golden
eggs, yet, nothing to write home about the infrastructure of the areas.
Speaking
with the media the representative of the minister of works and housing His
Excellency Fashola, Alawode said that God Himself has blessed Nigeria
wonderfully, but, yet, she said that the man who constructed Masha bridge is a
Nigerian, then why do we still import foreign experts to work in Nigeria adding
that Nigeria has lots of abundant and human resources available.
The
5th Nigeria’s Construction Industry Hall of Fame 2019 inducted 17
inductees into her Hall of Fame. Some of them are Engineers, Builders and
Estate Surveyor Valuers.
