University of Lagos disclosed that the Nigerian Association of Medical
Physicist (NAMP) is an affiliate of the International Organisation of Medical Physics

patients.
Speaking in his own words (NAMP) every year gathers members together
with the aim to provide a forum for both young and well experienced
researchers, students, in medical physics and closely related fields from
across the country and beyond, to deliberate, brainstorm and share the modern
concepts and latest discoveries during the conference scientific sessions. The
latest relevant research findings and innovations of International standards
are selected among the scientific presentations for publications in the next
volume of our International Peer – reviewed African Journal of Medical Physics.
Knowledge and technological development have, and are still rapidly expanding
in al specialities of medicine and medical science. The roles of Medical Physicists
in modern patient care and disease management have emerged in the last two
decades and have so increased to the extent that the profession now constitutes
a world of its own.
The
unique roles of Medical Physicists have made the profession to be special and
indispensable in 2019. This informs the theme for this year’s gathering (IT’S A

workshop will inspire our members, individually and corporately, and that it
will result in significant advancement of medical practises as we faithfully
play our professional clinical roles.
Speaking
on behalf of the Hon. Minister of Health Dr. Osagie Enanire, Dr. Mustapha Alimi
pleasantly expressed the goodwill of his boss to the heads of NAMP and the
general public. He commended them for their uncommon roles they play in the
treatment of Cancer cases and other medical clinical applications. He

Speaking
with a goodwill message the Provost, College of Medicine of the University of
Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos prof Lesi and also wearing another cap as he stood in

praised the Nigerian Association of Medical Physicists (NAMP) for their
indispensable contributions to the college of medicine University of Lagos and
the general public in the provision of deft researches for the treatment and
adequate management of Cancer cases.
He
challenges them to produce workable communiques from the abstracts papers
submitted to the central working committee of Nigerian Association of Medical
Physicists so that younger professionals in the Radiation, Biology Oncology,
Physics and Astronomy departments would fall back when the need arises.
Speaking with journalists second Vice President of Nigerian Association of
Medical Physicists and also of the Centre for Energy Research and Development,
Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile – Ife Prof. Balogun said that the theme of
their 3rd Edition of Annual Scientific Conference and Workshop which
is (IT’S A MEDICAL PHYSICS WORLD) is actually apt and right adding that the
medical physicists are specialists trained to cerebrally manage cancer cases
whether in children and adults.
Speaking
again Prof. Balogun said that the NAMP 3rd edition of Annual
Scientific Conference and Workshop had gathered experts together to present
scientific abstracts papers which in turn added values and made loud statements
on the roles of medical physicists in the treatment of cancer issues at the
hospitals. Speaking with journalists consultant in clinical Radiation Oncology,
Department of Radiotherapy, Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Prof.
Abayomi Durosinmi – Etti said that the treatment and management of cancer cases
had started yielding positive results both for the patients and the power that
