NWPL READY TO SHOWCASE THE SUPER 4
FINALS

Speaking
as the chairperson of the Nigerian Women Premier League (NWPL) Aisha Falode
said that the board of NWPL is ready to showcase super 4 finals of Adamawa
Queens, Bayelsa Queens, Confluence Queens and Rivers Angels finals come Friday,
November 1st, 2019 to Sunday November 3rd, 2019 at Agege
Stadium, Lagos.
Speaking
at a Press Conference at Agege Stadium Lagos she said that there would be two
matches on Friday November 1st, 2019 at 2.00 pm between Adamawa
Queens vs Bayelsa Queens while the second match of the day would kick off at
4.00 pm between Confluence Queens vs Rivers Angels adding that the finals would
be played on Sunday November 3rd, 2019.
She
said that the Hon. Minister of Sports Sunday Dare would be the special guest of
Honour, while the deputy governor of Edo state Ex – Bendel Insurance footballer
would grace the super 4 finals.
She
said that the winner of the super 4 of Nigerian Women Premier League would be
going to Laliga Women League in Spain for further trainings in their academy
adding that the winner of the super 4 would go home with a price cash of Three
million naira only while the first runners up would smile home with Two million
naira only and the second runners up would also clinch a handsome of One
million naira only for their performances.
She
said that the board that came in the year 2017 met with lots of challenges but,
she quickly avers that things are beginning to shape up as a board should be
properly as she added that the board actually needs uncommon supports and
sponsorship as each match the board organises gulped over N135, 000. 00 and
that the board has about 16 football clubs to care for.
She
said that the governors of Edo state, Rivers state, and Bayelsa state had been
exceedingly supportive to the worthy causes of the board as she added that she
personally held a long discussions with the executive governor of Lagos stste
Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo – Olu on a flight from Lagos to Kenya when she attended
AFCOM meeting and the governor had noted all the narratives she reeled off to
him for supportiveness and all that so
that the Nigerian Women Premier League could be of international standards of
Federation International Football Association (FIFA) ratings globally as she
added that Nigerian Women Premier League needs all supportive hands to be on
the deck.
When
she rounded off her press statements questions were fielded in by journalists
and of a truth she provided answers to the grey areas of NWPL. The coaches of
Adamawa queens, Bayelsa queens and Rivers Angels also added superlative
insights of what they are expecting from the finals of super 4 come Sunday,
November 3rd, 2019 as they all hoped to clinch the Three million
naira only star price. The closing remarks were rendered by RT. Hon. Margret
Icheen, Vice chairperson of Nigerian Women Premier League and the very first
female speaker of the Benue state House of Assembly between 1999 – 2003.
She
commended her boss Falode for the wonderful and insightful analysis she
narrated to the media and the general public while she spoke of the challenges
and successes recorded thus far by the board.
She
pleasantly debunked the illusion that women are slow species as asserted by the
coach of Adamawa queens as she quickly avers that women folks are very fast
learners in all trades most especially in the brown leather stuffs. The super 4
finals would be a battle of the Savanna and Niger Delta battle alike.
