BY
LEO EZEKIEL.
Speaking
to the audience at school Multipurpose Hall of JEXTOBAN Secondary School
Chairman, Board of Governors Pastor Emmanuel Adebayo Ojo disclosed largely to the
crowds that the vision began in the year 1986. Speaking further, he clearly
narrated to the gathering that in 1988 the same vision that he saw in the year
1986 resurfaced again.
Speaking again the Chairman of the Board of Governors Pastor
Ojo said that the vision finally became a reality in the year 1995 when he and
his spouse Mrs. Ayoola Ojo started putting the school properly in the right
perspectives. Pastor Ojo told the audience that cost of accommodation stood at
N200, 000:00, but, that he had only N20, 000:00 in his business account adding
that they approached the owner of the property for the facility, assuring him
that his bill would be duly paid to him.
He said that he went to speak with a
friend of his for financial assistance and that by the grace of God, his friend
told him that he had some monies in his account that he could assist him with
the loans he sought for.
He said pronto the cash was made available to him and
that he drove down with his first son to get the cash. He said that N20.00 note
was the highest denomination then and the monies were carried with Ghana – Must
– Go –Bags. He said that at every stage he and lovable spouse Mrs. Ojo continued
to seek the face of God through Jesus Christ His son and of a truth God
continually answered their prayers.
He said that as they were setting up the
school, two Korean children came up to them and told them that they wanted to
learn English Language and he said that they accepted them. He said that later
the school formally kicked started with only nine students in the year 1995.
As
he gave his testimonies to the audience he spotlighted one of the first nine
students that began the school with them in the hall and the young man was
Ayodeji Oluwarotimi who flew in from Dallax of the United States of America. He
publicly acknowledged that his wife mummy Ojo was the one that supervised all
the projects done in the last 25 years as he says that the name of the school
(JEXTOBAN SECONDARY SCHOOL) simply stood as JESUS OUR BANNER).
He said that he
was able to repay back N100, 000.00 to the man who loaned him N200, 000.00 and
amazingly, the man told him to forget the balance of N100, 000.00. And again he
said God himself was behind all these.
He
uncommonly showered thanks and praises to God Himself for the favours granted
them in the last 25 years which he said that it unimaginably called for
Celebrating 25 Years of God’s faithfulness (1995 – 2020) as well as Silver
Jubilee Anniversary and Thanksgiving Service. Speaking further to the staffers,
parents, students and the entire mass audience Pastor Ojo said that the
boarding system started with three students in their living room many years ago
as he added that in all he is really pleasantly gladdened to God’s faithfulness
in the success story of JEXTOBAN SECONDARY
SCHOOL.
In rounding off his awesome testimonies he humbly asked the
gathering to appreciate his wife mummy Ojo for all she had done and still being
doing for the great vision of God in raising Godly children to the globe. Speaking
as the anniversary Preacher Chief Medical Director of Life Hospital Dr. Awe did
a wonderful sermonization to the audience and he took his work from (Psalm 118:
15 – 29) whereby he spent some quality time in bringing out the importance of
serving God faithfully. He largely goaded all and sundry to always seek the
face of the of the Lord in all circumstances because it is the Lord that
promotes his creatures. He generally prayed for the founders of the school,
parents, staffers and students for God’s continuous faithfulness upon them all.
Speaking
to the crowds as the guest speaker Prof. Joseph Sunday Odemuyiwa of Ogun State
and also Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor did not disappoint the
audience with the academic paper he presented with the theme ‘’Education for Excellence In a Global
Society”.
Speaking further Prof. Odemuyiwa said that quality education is
such that, it is functional, allowing the learner to acquire such skills,
competencies necessary for self-reliance while the total person is he who is not
only economically viable, but, respected, also has repeat for the worth and
dignity of other individuals and shared responsibility for the common good of
his society. In rounding off his paper presentation he says that being an
excellent child one needs to focus on God because he gives an excellent spirit
adding that kingDavid of Old Israel said “I have put the Lord always before me”
he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved, by this determination, David
excelled.
He told the children of JEXTOBAN to be like David, Daniel and Joseph
so that God’s excellent spirit would be upon all and sundry. He also told their
parents to teach their children the way they should go so that when they grow
old they would not depart from it.
Speaking to the gathering Ayodeji
Oluwarotimi one of the very first nine students that opened the page of
Jextoban Secondary School said that he would remain eternally grateful to God,
his parents, the Ojos and all other hands that moulded him and his mates into
what they are doing today as he added that the school really prepared them for
life’s challenges and all that.
He pragmatically encouraged the students to be
serious with their school works at all times bearing in mind the principles
with which the school is built upon. Speaking to the audience as a former
parent Mrs. Jane Ofili said that her three boys Paul, Patrick and Kelvin Ofili
went through Jextoban secondary school and that they did extremely well in
their final examinations of which they came out with flying colours as she
added that their GPA at University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos is on the first
class range. She emphatically concurred that her children brilliancy is as a
result of the Godly background the school impacted to them. She encouraged the
present students to be God fearing, dutiful, respectful and responsible at all
times.
Speaking
with Iconblazemagazineonlineportal the principal of Lagos school Mr. Emmanuel
Adegoke said that he has been with the school since 15 years ago as the head
teacher adding that the school has all the potentials of raising total child
through the effective disciplines, industry, mentoring and moulding that the
school authorities dished out to them from time to time.
He largely prayed for
the Ojos the owners of the school for God himself will continually afford them
good health, sound mind, body and soul at all times so that they may witness
the Golden jubilee ceremony. Various prayer points were prayed by different men
of God for the owners of the school, teachers, non-teaching staffers, students
and parents. The students entertained the audience with musical performances
and the school authority appreciated some members of the staff with long
service awards for their great services they rendered for the growth and
progress story of the school.
