LASG TO TRAIN 300 PWDS BY FEBRUARY_ Dawodu

The Lagos state government has set to train 300 persons with
disabilities to be self-reliance in the month February so as to give them the
sense of belonging to know and enjoy same rights in Lagos state.
The Commissioner for the Youths and Social Development,
Olusegun Dawodu disclosed this recently during his keynote address at the Lagos
International year 2019 celebration for people with disabilities PWDS, held at
the Alausa secretariat, Ndubuisi KANU Park, by the Lagos State office for
Disabilities Affairs, that the celebration was in line with the Lagos state
governor Babajide Sanwoolu ' s way of celebrating and appreciating the people
faced with disabilities because he believes there is ability in disabilities of
the PWDS.
Dawodu thereby informed while representing the Lagos state
Governor that the training was going to run every year and would last for 5
weeks as the PWDS shall graduate in April during this phase through which it
would spread across the 6 senatorial districts. He mentioned that the governor
was ready to partner with them and has not forgotten the people with
disabilities in any level because their funds have been set aside in the Lagos
state Budget for the year 2020.
He expressed that it has been created that the PWDS Should
be treated free of charge in Lagos Hospitals as the Lagos governor is
interested in their good health and wellbeing and government wants to give them
according to their needs. Also the government shall encourage the private
sectors to include the PWDS in their employment scheme and shall employ the
limited ones in government office. He said.

Foundation Joyce Olu, Iyaniwura Child care Foundation, Lady Atinuke and
Peculiar Saint Orphanage Mrs. Olamide
