Reading
the Punch Newspaper of Thursday February 27th, 2020 on page 5 with a
wrote up by one Oluwatosin Omojuyigbe which she titled Yabatech Security guards
assaulted undergraduate over jeans.
I did hereby to say that the title of the
said write up was not properly titled because the Public Relations Unit of the
Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos is never included jeans as part of
dress codes listed on two large bill boards which are clearly spelt out and
pasted on the two gates, adding that there are 17 points for dress codes for
all the students both males and females. Some of the spelt out dress codes are;
·
Wearing of
ear ring by male student.
·
Plaiting
or weaving of hair by male student.
·
Short and
skimpy dresses e.g show me your chest, back, stomach, spaghetti wears and
dresses exposing sensitive parts of the body et a;.,
The truths shall always remain the truths no matter what volume of
darknesses any one wishes to paint the Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos,
it will never see the light of the day because the college is the mother of all
tertiary institutions in the land.
Going through any system in the world, there
is always working codes for all those in the system.
The students of Yaba
College of Technology should bear in their minds, that they would never remain
students in their entire lives, but, one day they too will become leaders of
tomorrow and when they occupy such responsible positions will they still dress
incoherently badly, the simple answer is No.
Rather than be at variance with
the college management, let the students be hardworking at all times, because
hard work does not kill, rather it rewards uncommonly.
