The
Evbobioba Community indigenes of Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State has
appealed to His Excellency, Executive Governor of Edo State Mr. Godwin Obaseki,
His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, Oba of Benin Kingdom and other relevant
authorities to save them from the wicked hands of one Chief Osamede Adun, the
Aiyobaghan of Benin Kingdom a.k.a. Bob-Izua over plots of land in their
community.
The Elders of the community disclosed this when enlarge audience at a town hall meeting stating that Chief Adun now goes around harassing the indigenes with thugs and arresting some of the elders with security operatives, as they largely called on the Oba of Benin Kingdom to quickly come and bail them out from the hands of Chief Adun.
Speaking at the Town hall meeting of the Community Comrade Matthew Iyoha appealed to Oba Ewuare II to call Chief Adun to order as their Community is not ready to allow him take possession of their land adding that Chief Adun wishes to stress them as he took them all including the elders of the Community to inspect his papers with which he is claiming the lands.
In their words (We want to appeal to the relevant authorities including His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II the Oba of Benin Kingdom to come our aids). According to Prince Kester Izevbokun, there was a strange call to me that Chief Adun came with thugs to the community and beat up some elders and also hand them over to the police, as I am talking now we are currently hiding ourselves in the neighbouring villages all for safety and they are calling relevant authority to come to their aids.
And one Ede Ogbeide concurs all that Prince
Izevbokun stated of Chief Adun claiming half of the community land from the major road to the river side from the
beginning of the community to end point as he claims that he does not know who
Chief Adun is. Reacting to a telephone interview by iconblazemagazineonline,
Chief Adun said “I do not wish to say anything now, I made a passage out of
Benin adducing that when he returns from his passage, he would call back for
clearer elucidations.
