Edo Festival, Awards 2021 To Be Hosted In UK -------- Ikpefumran

Speaking with members of the Press at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Edo Council Secretariate, Oba Oguola Press Centre, G.R.A, Benin City, Edo State, the Nigerian representative of Edo Festival and Awards Osazee Osagie Ikpefumran stated that the 2021 Edo Festival and Awards will be hosted in the month of September 2021 in United Kingdom adding that the 10th Edition of Edo Festival and Awards shall showcase one of the best talents and skills of the Edo Indigens and also of those in diaspora. He stated that the whole essence of the 10th Edition is to attract Culture and Entertainment of Edo people both in Nigeria and abroad adding that the 10th edition of Edo Festival and Awards shall be properly channeled into cultural and entertainment activities of Edo people in showcasing their uncommon cultures and entertainment to the fullest.

 

He said that the Edo Festival and Awards did begin in the year 2011 and the last edition which was held in the year 2019 recorded huge successes as he added that 2020 edition was not held because of the Covid-19 Corona Virus Pandemic that wickedly ravaged the economics of the entire globe. Speaking with the press the Nigeria representatives of the Edo Festival and Awards stated that they decided to be begin to sensitize the general public as regards the voting processes of getting the Awardees to be nominated, he also concurs that the sensitization exercise shall run through the month of April to August 2021 thereby the final event shall be held in September 2021 in the United Kingdom.

 



Speaking with the press Ikpefumran stated that Edo Festival and Awards had recorded the uncommon presence of Chief Gabriel Igbinedion the Esama of Benin Kingdom, Kelvin Books a Nollywood Actor, Goodluck Uwuwijbe a.k.a Oflex as he also added that Maleke a high profiled musician had performed at one of the editions of Edo Festival and Awards and as well as Esther Edokpayi, Chief Arala Osula, his spouse and their son Kola Osula co-performed at the Edo Festival and Awards. Ikpefumran stated that Amb. Ken Odeh a.k.a JJ Barry and also Chief Executive Officer CEO of JJ Barry Conglomerate is the arrow head of Edo Festival and Awards who resides in the UK. The Nigeria representative cum film producer, director Ikpefumran stated that there has been heavy challenges here and there, but, however, he concurs that with the graces of God that Edo State Festival and Awards have continued to weather the storm.
