I Will Deliver Your Letter to The Governor-SSG

Speaking to the members of Nigerian Bar Association(NBA) Edo State in his office at the Government House, Benin -City, Edo State, Secretary to the State government Barr Ogie has stated that he would deliver the letter the members of the Nigerian bar Association (NBA) submitted through the executives of the Bar which they wrote to the executive governor of the State Mr. Godwin Obaseki adding that there would a proper channel would be arranged where his Excellency Obaseki would hold a parley with the members of the bar thereby the issues raised in the letter would be adequately discussed for the public good of all and sundry.

 Speaking with IconblazeMagazineOnline, Barr. Paul Ojeme stated that anything wrong is wrong adding that when this issue came up in the year 2016 under leadership of the chairman of the Bar Princess Patricia Iyomon, that they went on protest in solidarity with JUSUN that the judiciary should be granted financial autonomy. He stated that some of them went to Abuja for undertaken in the protest and he added that at the end of the protest, they were all vindicated. He says that what they fought for then, is still raising its ugly head. He pragmatically noted that Princess Iyomon should be praised and celebrated for her doggedness.


 

Speaking with IconblazeMagazineOnline, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Edo State. Barr. Ogaga Emmoghwanre stated that the issue of financial autonomy is in line with the constitution of 121 subsection 3 is not for JUSUN or the lawyers, but the real matter is the preservation of the constitution of the country because the rule of law is very important to all and sundry as he also submitted that the whole exercise is to make sure that the judiciary should be independent in all ramifications. 


Speaking with IconblazeMagazineOnline, the chairman of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Auchi Branch Barr. Ibrahim stated that they had a fruitful audience with SSG Barr. Ogie who assured the members of the Bar that their letter would be properly channeled to the executive governor Obaseki adding that the parley with the governor may eventually lead to the financial autonomy of the Judiciary which is largely constitutional.
