Hon Kamal Bayewu, chairman Local Government Service Commission stated the theme of the LG News Academy one day Seminar Leadership, Development and Values speaks volume adding that to be a good leader, the leader must be physically available for those he or she is leading positively not negatively, because the leader must be visible for all and sundry to notice. Speaking again to the participants the Local Government Service Commission Chairman Hon Bayewu stated that even in a classroom one is visible whether the person comes out on top as the best student or the last student, that both of them are visible, adding that the leader must see himself or herself as somebody who is ready to help peoples from whatever situations, they are involved by showing them empathy as he added again that the leader must be able to adapt to the environment, because the leader had to adapt to the environment, again the leader must have followership and if as a leader nobody is following the leader, therefore it means that the self-acclaimed leader is not a leader to the peoples he or she portends to be leading.

Speaking further to the audience Hon Bayewu stated that a leader without a followership is just taking a stroll, adding that the leader must have a vision, where does the leader wishes to be, as the leader must have sharp intellects to know what affects his or her peoples, and as well as that the leader does not need to quit because though times fizzle away, but, though leaders do not quit, because a good leader must prepare himself or herself for the great task ahead. Speaking further to the audience Hon Bayewu says that as a leader one does not need to deceive himself or herself as the leader sees himself or herself as leader of today as the leader must take it up programmatically to champion the situations that affect his or her peoples adding that the breakdown of the values within the system and he suggested that the only thing to be done is to remedy what has gone wrong with the values system.

Speaking further to the participants Hon Bayewu says that when they were growing up that there was a communal life for all and sundry, which he says sadly that the good communal life has disappeared into thin air adding that there are no more systems within the body polity.

He stated that as at today if one is a money bag, the so- called money bag sends his or her children to abroad for further education adding that when they go to abroad, he queried whether they are learning the cultures of Nigeria or they are learning the white man’s cultures and he says that these things are the ones that is breaking down the values system and he also stated that there has to be effective communications within the body polity. Speaking again to the audience the erudite scholar Hon Bayewu stated that there has to be family communications by telling the children the right things at all times regardless whose ox is gored and he says that if parents are not able to correct their children aright, that is why there is general break down of the values system, but, again, he says that these break down of the values system can still be corrected by organizing a seminar like what LG News Academy is doing today, let the people to know that it is not all about profitability as some politicians come for employability while some of them come for service.
