NASU, UNIBEN HOLDS REGULAR MEETING

The Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Ugbowo, Benin City, Edo State at Oba Akenzuwa Hall has held her regular meeting today Wednesday September 29^th 2021 as she did hold conference and meeting of the University Teaching Specialist Hospital Trade Group of NASU and conferment of Awards on the distinguished personalities of the University Community.

 

Speaking to the gathering the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) Prof. Darlington Obaseki whom Prof. Omuemu represented stated that he is quite gladdened that NASU leadership are effectively and efficiently carrying their members along as they are team players adding that for the Union to remain relevant in the scheme of things that the leadership of the Union and the University Authority must mutually and pragmatically respect each others opinion.

 

The Chief Medical Director CMD Prof. Obaseki is one of the uncommon personage honoured with an award which Prof. Omuemu did receive on his behalf. Speaking to the audience the State Chairman NASU Edo State Council Com. Joel Idonuel stated that it is really worthy to note that few years ago the Union NASU in the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Benin City that is pleasantly playing host to the conference and meeting was at one time in a catastrophic situation, that almost led to the extinction and debacle of the Union in the past adding that they are happy that the Union has uncommonly bounce back to her feet and is now is a stable condition like the rock of Gilbraltar.

 

Speaking further to the gathering he says that this feat is achievable because of dynamic leadership of the immediate past management led by Prof. Ibadin and the present management led by the formidable Chief Medical Director (CMD) Prof. Obaseki adding that by the grace of God they as a Union are alive with their responsibilities to deliver the best services to their members.

 

Speaking further to the audience in his own words (Regrettably permit me to remind us that our country is on precipice of collapsing and failing as a nation, as we are currently going through the most unpredictable political melee organized and driven by those who believed that when God created this geographical location called Nigeria it was bequeathed to them for conquest and authority.

 

That God left it with them alone and therefore all of us not in their clique and bound together by history are condemned to servitude and just to follow, even when we are suffocated. Nigerians are looking up to us for succour because all the political parties have gone to sleep and we must not disappoint them). Speaking with iconblazemagazineonline the Chairman of NASU UBTH Com. Friday Aimiende states that their gathering at Oba Akenzuwa Hall UBTH is to hold their regular meeting which they normally hold twice in a year and that today’s meeting is the second meeting of the year 2021 which has also brought the Unions activities to a close adding that they have deliberated on objective issues that would move the Union forward.

 

Speaking further with iconblazemagazineonline his messages to his members is that NASU UBTH is on ground in the UBTH adding that many persons have negatively stated in the past that NASU UBTH is no longer on ground. He says that members cooperated very well with their attendance.

 

Speaking with iconblazemagazineonline the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Edo State Chairman Comr. Barry Osaro Imade stated that the regular meeting of NASU UBTH is a right step in the right direction adding that the same NASU at UBTH contributed immensely to his comradeship position in the last 22years as he and his co-comrades has been in the struggles so as to make sure that the citizenry live a better lifestyle.

 

He commended the leadership of NASU UBTH and Comrades like Prof. Ibadin, Bello et’al whom all have seen tick and thin in the struggles.  He says that at one time the membership of the Union dropped to only six members and sadly he says again at one time the membership dropped to only four members but today he says he is praying that God will continue to strengthen the leadership of NASU.

 

Speaking with iconblazemagazineonline Deputy President Research and Project Trade Group of NASU Com. Bar. Henry Okoyomon stated that the event of today is very impactful to all and sundry as very vital issues are discussed adding that the whole second regular meeting of NASU UBTH is actually to announce to the entire globe that NASU UBTH is very much on ground because many persons have negatively spoke evils against the leadership of the Union in the past.
