BY LEO EZEKIEL

The Benin Solidarity Movement Worldwide has pragmatically demanded justice over the wicked and brutal murder of one Sunny Etchie the Okhaegele of Kolokolo Community in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State. The BSM group had a peaceful protest today, Friday 24th September, 2021, and their first port of call is Nigerian Bar Association, The Lion Bar, Benin Branch where Barr. Idemudia Osifo received the group on behalf of NBA Chairman Barr. Pius Oiwoh.

Speaking to the NBA Group the General Secretary of BSM Esohe Adun stated that one Justice Imadegbelo of the Edo State Criminal Court II denied justice in the case of kidnap and brutal murder of a Benin son Etchie adding that the decision reached at the last court sitting is not favourable to the family of Etchie despite that one Isaiah Akpani has openly confessed that he is the one that killed Etchie based on the instructions of one Prince Johnson Atselegh.

She stated that DPP has wrongly applied the instrument of justice by releasing Akpani who has actually confessed that he killed Etchie. Barr. Osifo advised the BSM members to be peaceful with their protest adding that they should go the Ministry of Justice of Edo State where the office of DPP is located. On arrival at the office of the DPP the BSM members were directed to meet with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice. At the office of the Permanent Secretary at Ministry of Justice the Secretary to the Permanent Secretary received a well worded letter and a CD recorder for his boss.

From the secretariat the BSM group moved down to NUJ, Edo State Council Complex where the Secretary Mr. Titus Akhigbe received the group on behalf of the Chairman Sir/Com. Roland Osakwue and he advised them to go about their protest peacefully assuring them that NUJ reporters will pleasantly publicize their demands to the entire world. The Secretary of BSM Adun again spoke on behalf of BSM that they demand justice for Etchie because if no justice is given in this case, she claims that the down trodden masses are finished in the circumstances that all Nigerians are living with presently. Throughout their peaceful match they sang solidarity songs to highlight their piquedness to the entire world.
