Speaking
to the Parishioners of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Ukhegie Street, Off
Institute of Continue Education Road, Benin City, Edo State Rev. Fr. Anthony
Nkon the Parish Priest states that Sir Chief Barr. Sunday Osamwonyi Alonge, the
Patriarch of the Alonge Dynasty, the Oyegbata of Ugbe Afo loves God and the
Church exceedingly, uncommonly adding that Sir Chief Barr. Alonge actually has
a deep reservoir of love for God the creator of Heavens and Earth.
Speaking
further to the Parishioners and well wishers the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Nkon states
that Sir Chief Barr. Alonge who is celebrating his four scores birthday to the
glory of God and admiration of his children, his grandchildren, his daughters-in-laws
and as well as the parishioners has actually been a man who has uncommon love
for God and the church as he generally, contributes his time and his resources
to the workings of the spread of the gospel of Jesus Christ to all and sundry.
The Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Nkon states that God appreciates thanksgiving as he stated that King David of old Israel was one King who danced heavily in appreciating all the showers of blessings God Himself bestowed upon right from when he was a shephered boy and the killing of the giant of Gath, Goliat.
The Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Nkon gave several examples of the effectiveness of thanksgiving to God in Heavens, adding that a Parishioner came with a cow to thank God for beingsacked from the employment of Fidelity Bank adding that the sacked parishioner danced his heart out to God but, very sadly his spouse was extremely down cast as she joined her husband to the throne of God speaking further to the parishioners, the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Nkon states that when he did ask the parishioner why the thanksgiving, he says that the parishioners says that the powers that be at the Fidelity Bank has shown him the way out of the system.But, he tells the
parishioners that the sister-in-law of the sacked parishioner assisted him to
get a more flowering and flourishing job at Shell Oil and Gas in Port Harcourt
where his salaries and allowances runneth over and before one could say pronto
that the parishioner came back for another thanksgiving celebrations with two
cows and this time around his wife danced more than the husband expressing
gratitude to God for the provision of a better opportunities as he added that
thanksgiving opens the doors and windows of unimaginable blessings.
He
did give another illustration that he went to Matice on a certain day and one
particular woman came with three of her sons and she did buy three boxes of ice-cream
for the three boys adding that when the woman handed over the ice cream to the
first son, he thanked his mother, same applied to the second son, but, very sadly
the third son never acknowledged his mother with gratitude, and pronto their
mother took the ice-cream from him and shared between his elder one and the
poor boy openly wept. The Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Nkon said that he took pity on
the poor little lad and bought another ice-cream for him, but, before he could
hand over the said ice-cream to the lad, he had started shouting thank you sir
adding that thanksgiving is a catalyst for God to open doors and windows of opportunities.
The Parish
Priest Rev. Fr. Nkon cited the ingratitude
of nine lepers that Jesus Christ healed adding that only one came back to give
thanks to God for his healing. Speaking further to the parishioners the Parish
Priest Rev. Fr. Nkon states that when a man marries a good woman that his life
increases, but, when a man marries a wrong woman that his life decreases adding
that the man who loves God and the Church Sir Chief Barr. Alonge had married a
very virtuous woman therefore he is able to celebrate his 80th
birthday gig with pomp and pleasantries. The entire church did sing a happy
birthday song for him. And, again, at the reception ground a happy birthday
song by the legendary Steve Wonder of yesteryears smash hit. The beautiful cake
that his children and grandchildren designed for him was largely and graciously
treated with deep and uncommon love to the glory of God.
The Alonges
provided all brands of drinks, foods for the guests while the guests pleasantly
and lovably showered the birthday legal icon with various sizes of paintings. The
biography of the birthday boy was read out loudly and clearly to the audience
by his daughter Eno Alonge and his biography is quite impressive and alluring. Speaking
with iconblazemagazineonline Chief Stanly Omoregie Obamwonyi states that he and
the celebrant Sir Chief Barr. Alonge have been childhood friends adding that he
is marking his 80th birthday while he would be marking his own four
scores on January 2022 by the special grace of God. He says that he wishes him
well in his new age and as well as prays for him to continue to love God and
the church because he is a jolly good fellow who is always ready to support a
worthy cause.
He says
that time and space would dwarf him if he continues to reel out all the good virtues
of his age grade man Friday adding that he is a loving family man who cherishes
his spouse and children. Speaking with iconblazemagazineonline the Chairman of Nigerian
Legion of Ex-service Men Edo State Col. Ignatius Enabulele states that the
celebrant is a lovely good man, that he is very amiable, that he is a bridge
builder, that he is a generous man who gives out without complaining. That he
loves all persons regardless tribe, sex, race or creed, that he is very
friendly and supportive to peoples plights and aspirations.
That he
has no time to quarrel with people as he always poised to do something good to
love God and man. He says that his birthday falls on working day, yet the
birthday celebrations gathered uncommon crowds of Parishioners and members of
the knight of St. John International to honour one of their own and as well as
the Laux. He says that his character is worthy of emulation adding that God
would grant him more of good health, to his wife, children, grandchildren.
He says
that God should continue to bless him so that he could be available to assist
any one when the need arises. Speaking with iconblazemagazineonline Captain
Vincent Adjarho Kinght of St. John International and Laux states that they are
indeed grateful to God for the life and times of Sir Chief Barr. Alonge adding
that they are really indeed grateful because they are thankful to God for his
life, his wife, his children and as well as his well wishers whom that they all
gathered to celebrate him despite that the birthday falls on a working day. Speaking
with iconblazemagineonline Mrs. Modupe Juliet Adeaye (Nee Alonge) a daughter to
the Late Nehemiah Louis Alonge states that his uncle Sir Chief Barr. Alonge has
played the role of a lovable father to her and her siblings Gbenga Alonge,
Kikelomo Osital Alonge, Caroline Lawal Alonge and Bamide Alonge adding that
most of her siblings could not physically attend the 80th birthday
thanksgiving ceremony of their uncle and father, but that she has stood in for
the dynasty of late Nehemiah Louis Alonge.
She says that she and her siblings do wish
their uncle and father many more fruitful healthy years ahead. Speaking with iconblazemagazineonline
Vincent Kenneth Ojo Chairman of Zone Six St. Augustine Parish states that it is
really gloriously occasion to celebrate one of leading lights of St. Augustine
Catholic Church, Benin City adding that God Himself is really good to the
celebrant and his entire family.
