UNIBEN AT 51 CELEBRATION OF
HEROES, FUND RASING CEREMONY

Speaking
as the guest speaker to the audience at the Aken Deko Main Auditorium of
University of Benin, Ugbowo Campus, Benin City, Edo State His Excellency
Ambassador Adamu Emozozo former Nigeria Ambassador to Brazil Bolivia and
Paraguay states that the management of the University of Benin, Ugbowo Campus,
Benin City under watch of Madam Vice Chancellor Prof. Lilian Salami, the
amiable Vice Chancellor with a vision and a beautiful difference has pleasantly
and uncommonly positioned the institution to a world class standards adding
that the Vice Chancellor Prof. Salami and her team have worked tirelessly
around the clock to make sure that the glory of the University continues to
soar higher.
Speaking
further to the hall full to the capacity with the heroes of the University who
have contributed their quota to the very school that prepared them for the
future as he particularly disclosed to the audience the hefty roles the former
Executive Governor of Lagos State now Minister of Housing and Works Mr.
Babatunde Raji Fashola has continued to pay back to the University in many
ways.
Speaking
to the audience the Pro Chancellor and Chairman of Council Dr. Sonny Folorunso
Kuku, OFR of Eko Hospitals Lagos on behalf of the chancellor of the University
HRM Prof. James Ortese Ayarse, Tortiv says that the management of the
University has really done well by celebrating the heroes of the University
adding that with this uncommon recognition from the management to the members
of alumni who have effortlessly assisted the University with all the available
resources at their disposals as he added that this recognition would spur lots of
old graduates from the University to begin to positively contribute their quota
for the advancement and developments of the University for the public good of
all and sundry. The list of the heroes honoured is endless and they all spoke
good and kinds words to the headship of the University most especially the
Madam Vice Chancellor Prof. Salami.
Speaking
to the audience the Permanent Secretary of Department of Education of the
Ministry of Education, Benin City, Edo State who stood in for the state
governor His Excellency Mr. Godwin Obaseki, Mrs. Stella Maris Imasuen stated
that as they strive for success and riches and fulfilments, that they have to
remember that they earn to achieve any of it by living in a bubble of
self-interest, for they are a part of humanity and until everyone progresses and
as well as had the opportunity to fulfil their potential and transform their
dreams into reality that their goals would only be mirages.
Speaking
further on behalf of the state governor Obaseki she states that for these
mirages to become oasis, they need to not only work hard and dream big, but,
also strive to use their research capability to innovatively address the real
hassles that Nigeria and Nigerians face at the moment.
Speaking
to the audience about the Alumni Relations Building with a fund raising
exercise Arc Timmy Ikhisemeyis a Director of Physical Planning, University of
Benin, Ugbowo Campus, Benin City actually narrated to the audience that the
Alumni Relations Building shall be a story building with various offices and
conference halls et’al. The whole event is moderated by the Chairman Ceremonies
Committee Prof. Mike Omoiegberale and of a truth he did not disappoint the
audience because he actually brought to bear the prowess of a professor he is.
