I Shall Present Your Demands To My Boss ….. Shaibu.

Speaking as the host to the members of the fourth estate of the realm of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Edo State Council at his residence GRA, Benin City, Edo State RT Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu the Deputy Governor States that he will pleasantly present the demands the newly elected Chairman of Nigeria Union of JournalistS, Edo State Council (NUJ) Comrade Festus Alenkle to His Boss His Excellency Governor Godwin Obaseki, Edo State Governor whom the newly elected Chairman made several demands to the Governor through the Deputy Governor of Edo State Rt. Hon Comrade Shaibu when he spoke to the gathering at the breakfast meeting media parley which the Deputy Governor of Edo State, RT. Hon Comrade Shaibu hosted for the members of the fourth estate of the realm as in appreciation of the some of the roles some reporters played when he (Shaibu) was wrongly framed up by the military junta of Late maximum ruler General Sanni Abacha who held Nigeria and Nigerians to untold emasculating and draconic rules and debasing applications. 

Speaking further to the gathering he states that the Journalists who kept filing reports about their conditions while they were in detention, that the reports triggered the attentions of well meaning Nigerians and global leaders of which Late Walter Charles Omowale Carrington the American Ambassador to Nigeria took up the matter and by the grace of God through the efforts of Late Carrington, the military junta under the watch of Late general Abacha had to release them from the gulag after much torturing of heavy wickedness meted at them. He stated that he would forever appreciate the roles of media adding that no media no democracy because the media is there to balance the workings of democracy for the public good of the down trodden masses.

Speaking further, he stated that he would like the leadership of NUJ to institute a committee to work out the modalities of choosing best investigative journalist of the year, the best reporter of the year and the best broadcast reporter of the year and all these shall attract ₦500,000,00 cash prize beginning from the year 2022 adding that the materials of the winners would be assembled and forwarded to international media bodies like CNN,BBC, et’al for global recognition. 

He promised that for as long as God Almighty have accorded him life, that, he would continue to appreciate the members of the press every December 20^th adding that the media and the society are playing symbotic roles to each other. Speaking to audience the  newly elected Chairman of Edo State Council, Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) Comrade Alenkle commended the large hearted host to the members of the press for his continued love and kindness display at the press every December 20^th adding that he is quite really gladdened for the event has become his first official assignment as the newly elected chairman of NUJ Edo State Council.

Speaking further, he tells the audience that during his campaigns streaks, that he publicly stated that if elected as the chairman of Edo State Council NUJ that he would install internet Services, within 72 hours of his swearing in, but, he pleasantly informed the gathering that within 24 hours he did become the newly elected chairman of NUJ, he has uncommonly installed internet at the press centre for public good of the reporters. 

Speaking further,  he informed the gathering that the grid of ossiomo energy supply passed through the NUJ press centre and did supply energy to court buildings and NBA whereas the NUJ that labored with the cutting of some trees to allow the wires to pass through do not have energy supply as he added that without energy supply the internet installed would not function at optimal levels. He generally appealed to the host of the breakfast meeting of the media parley RT. Hon Shaibu that there is a large expanse of lands at the NUJ press centre which could be developed and named after the Deputy Governor Shaibu. 

Speaking further the newly elected chairman comrade Alenkle states that the media and government should partners in projects monitoring so that the press would be able to provide a first hand information to the general public about the workings of the  government adding that the government should provide logistics of such monitoring exercise for the media men and women. 

The chairman used the breakfast meeting of media parlay did introduce the new Excos of the Edo State Council of NUJ.

The breakfast meeting parley provided an array of old music of the 1960, 1970, 1980 and porkupyne is the master of the ceremonies.
