HAUSA WHEELBARROWS WORKERS DOWN TOOL

Friday,
January 21st 2022 turned out to be a black Friday for the users of
wheelbarrow carriers at Oba Market, Akpakpava, New Benin Market et’al as the Hausa
wheelbarrow workers down tool their services as they staged a peaceful match to
the Government House Dennis Osadebe House, G.R.A., Benin City with their
grievances.
They protested
the bogus monies some street urchins do collect from them with force from the
mentioned markets. Speaking with iconblazemagazineonline the leader of Hausa
Community in Benin City, Edo State Alhaji Saleh Gbadumasi states that the Hausa
wheelbarrow workers did a peaceful protest to government house where the Chief
of Staff to the Governor ordered the Chief Security Office (CSO) to the
Governor to address the protesters to calm down as he assured them that their grievances
would be carefully and critically looked into.
He stated
that the Hausa wheelbarrow workers are law abiding citizens of Nigeria adding
that they normally buy the government ticket which goes for N50.00, but, he says that their challenges
are some suckers from the outer space would come in group of four to five and
they forcely demanded for illegal payment from them.
He queried
that how much monies do wheelbarrow workers make in a day that these oafs want
to forcely collect illegal payment from them. He states that at the end of the
day, that the wheelbarrow workers go home with nothing. Although, he states
that he personally spoke with his subjects to go back to their work while they
await the responses from the government quarters.
Speaking
with iconblazemagazineonline one Mohammed Ashiru states that the challenges the
Hausa wheelbarrow workers are facing are actually painful adding that each
Hausa wheelbarrow worker parts away with about N800.00 every day to street urchins who pushed the Hausa
wheelbarrow workers to the walls to rise up and face the challenges squarely. But,
again, he said that the matter had been reported at the government house for investigations.
