HAWKERS ARE EXCLUDED FROM LEVY WITHIN OREDO LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL

The Management of Oredo Local Government Council has issued an order that hawkers are excluded from levy within the Oredo Local Government Council. In accordance with the Press Release made available to iconblazemagazineonline by the Information Officer of the Council Harrison Oronsaye. 

In accordance of the Press Release made available to Iconblazemagazineonline the Oredo Local Government Council held an enlarged stakeholders meeting of various security agencies, community leaders, Hausa Community, Civil Society representatives and as well as the management of Oredo Local Government Council in a bid to resolve the ugly crisis that erupted between the wheel barrow users and street urchins of illegal revenue collections and at the end of fruitful stakeholders meeting, objective resolutions were unanimously adopted. 

That the approved daily levy for wheelbarrow pushers and cart pushers is only N50:00 per day. That only Revenue Collectors wearing uniform are allowed to collect revenue including wheelbarrow levy. Collection of community levy is not recognized by the 2017 uniform harmonized local Government levies, rates, fees and charges law and anyone caught indulging in illegal collection of any sort will be nabbed and prosecuted accordingly.
