THE MEETING HEALD WITH THE OREDO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA DIRECTOR OF REVENUE, CHAIRMAN IGR, ET’AL WAS PRODUCTIVELY FRUITFUL – ALHAJI GBADAMASI

Speaking with iconbalzemagazineonline in his Office at Lagos Street, Ring Road, Benin City, Edo State Alhaji Saleh Gbadamasi the leader of Hausa Community in Benin City, Edo State Alhaji Saleh Gbadamsi stated that the expanded meeting held in the Office of the Director of Revenue and Chairman of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State Mr. Agbons Uyigue which the heads of DSS, Police, Vigilance et’al attended the said meeting that dwelled on the illegal revenue collections from wheelbarrow pushers and cart Pushers.

 

He stated that the Director of Revenue and Chairman of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) Agbons Uyigue did inform the members that the authority of Oredo Local Government Area has never issued authorization to any revenue collectors to collect revenues from the wheelbarrow pushers and cart pushers adding that what had been happening in the past has been illegal collection of revenues which the authority of Oredo Local Government Area never gave approval.

 

Speaking further he states that the Director of Revenue and Chairman of IGR Oredo Local Government Area Uyigue informed the meeting that whenever the authority of Oredo Local Government decides to collect revenues from the wheelbarrow pushers and cart pushers, that the ticket shall be only N50.00 as also he added that when the management of Oredo Local Government Area comes up with the decision, that the revenue collectors would be formally introduced to all and  sundry within the affected communities.

 

Speaking further with iconblazemagazineonline Alhaji Gbadamasi pleasantly expressed joys with his Hausa brothers of how the issues of illegal revenues collections by miscreants were resolved amicably at the office the Director of Revenue Oredo Local Government Area.

 

Speaking with iconblazemagazineonline in his office at the secretariat of Oredo Local Government Area, King’s Square, Ring Road, Benin City, the Director of Revenue and Chairman of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) Uyigue states that the meeting held in his office was well attended by the DSS, Police, Vigilance, Hausa Community, Ibiwe Community et’al adding that the ugly issues that happened on Friday, 21^st January, 2022 in the metropolis of Benin City, where wheelbarrow pushers and cart pushers down tool their services.

 

He frankly stated that no community has the right o collect any revenues from wheelbarrow pushers and cart pushers adding that following the constitution of 1998 and 1999 as amended that wheelbarrow operators and cart pushers have the legal backing to operate within the environs of Oredo Local Government Area.

 

Speaking further, he states that it is only Oredo Local Government Area that has the authority to collect revenues from the wheelbarrow pushers and cart pushers in Edo State. Speaking further he states that on February 28^th, 2017 His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Edo State.

 

 

 

Mr. Godwin Obaseki did append approval that the collection of revenues of the Oredo Local Government Area adding that the council is only the authority approved by law to collect revenues from wheelbarrows operators which stands at N50.00 only.

 

He says that since 2021 that there has been many roughness surrounding the Lagos Street, et’al adding that when the council shall come up with her decision of revenues collection from these areas, that a proper introduction of the revenue collectors shall be made known to the leaders of the communities adding that the expanded meeting with DSS, Police, Vigilance, Hausa Community and other communities yielded a productive fruitfulness of understanding and all that.
