HOLDS PEACEFUL PROTEST

The
Extended Executive Council of Edo Civil Society Organizations has pleasantly
and pragmatically held a peaceful protest this Friday, January 21st
2022.
The
TEC members came out in their large numbers to register their grievances to the
Federal Government under the watch of the clay footed President Muhammadu
Buhari (PMB) with various captions of bold inscriptions like “Nigerians say No
to fuel Hike, Nigerians clearly and loudly says no electricity tariffs Nigerians
are going through heavy poverty” Nigeria has four refineries but none is
working. Nigerians want PMB to resign from Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.
The
TEC members in their large numbers kicked started their peaceful match from the
National Museum Park and the group marched through the Ring Road, Benin City, with
heavy presence of security operatives who controlled the flow of traffic while
the protesters marched peacefully around the Ring Road, Benin City.
And Comrade
Prince Ogbeni the Chairman of Ovia North East Local Government Area of
Talakwata Parliament led the match with Aluta songs which heavily energized the
protesters dancing out their hearts, songs like Yawa Go Gas if Buhari no resign,
see them dem look, dem be lazy people” who be mumu, na Buhari be mumu” And
again, many slogans like “End poverty in Nigeria now rented the air. Join
the campaign, no to more hardship in Nigeria, support the down trodden masses.
Speaking with iconblazemagazineonline the Interim TEC Chairman Bishop Dr.
Osadolor Ochei stated that the protest is actually apt because the cost of
living in Nigeria has wickedly sky rocked above the rooftops adding that the
down trodden masses are heavily emasculated with untold hardships.
He states
that the minimum salary of N30,000.00
of those working can no longer sustain them effectively and efficiently owing
to the high cost of all items in the open markets.
Speaking
further he says the entire land space of Nigeria has been bedevil with all
brands of crimes like prostitution, kidnappings, banditry, yahoo yahoo, yahoo
plus, yahoo ritual of rams and get together, as he lamentably noted the Federal
Government under the watch of the snail pace Buhari has driven all and sundry
to hopelessness.
Many of
the civil society members addressed the media for instance the former attorney
general of Edo State Bar. Osagie Obayuwana, Chris Ojeikere et’al
