Chance Celebrates IWD With Several Empowerment Streaks

The charitable Network  for community and Empowerment in conjunction with the University of Lagos, Faculty of Arts, Students Association, University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos have pleasantly and uncommonly celebrated International Women Day with the theme “Gender Equality Today For A Sustainable Tomorrow” at the Afe Babalola Hall, University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos and CHANCE goes with objective ideals of Engage, Empower and Enable. 

Speaking as the founder of CHANCE to the gathering Mrs. Olajumoke Saliu states that the United Nations has internationally came out with her theme “Break The Bias” which has largely spread the pendulum to the favour of women globally adding that CHANCE decided to reframe her own theme to “Gender Equality Today For A Sustainable Tomorrow” as she furthered claimed that there has to be equal opportunities for both males and females. Speaking further Mrs. Saliu stated her Non Governmental Organization (NGO) has gone to Bariga market to empower some women traders sweepers with various items that make life livable and meaningfully adding that the decision of choosing Bariga market is because Bariga herself is a close neighbourhood to the University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos.

She stated that the government of Lagos State is intadem with CHANCE as she has heavily assisted CHANCE with the experimentation with cervical cancer exercise through the Ministry of Health and as well as free eyes screening exercise also with the given out of free eye glasses to those who have been screened and examined by the Opticians. 

Speaking further to the gathering, she states that the whole essence of gathering all classes of women is to aptly through several speakers lined up by CHANCE is to make them know how much importance they the women are within the family circle and generally at the societal levels adding that the roles and places of women can never be covered up by whatever means. 

Speaking to the audience, the Medical Director Optimal Cancer Care Foundation Dr. Femi Olaleye presented an eye opener lecture on cervical cancer treatment and prevention adding that early detection helps the victim(s) largely as he practically showed the women how they could easily detect lump(s) in their breasts by observing 9 o’clock exercise, 12 o’clock, 3 o’clock and finally 6 o’clock. He categorically stated that these checks do largely help women to know the status of their breasts. 

Speaking again to the audience Dr. Olaleye states that sex causes cancer, smoking also causes cancer and as well as bleaching the skin causes cancer, adding that women should make sure that no discharge comes out from the breast and he also added that breast lump, best to be removed early. He states that cancer is a killer disease globally adding that every two minutes, a woman dies of cervical cancer. 

He states that once a woman starts having sex, the risk of contacting cervical cancer is largely evident, adding that condoms do not remove HPV. He states that vaccines against HPV help a great deal to prevent the cervical cancer adding that women should be screened from time to time and he also added that Daystar, Winners, RHEMA, TREM, Catholics, Foursquare, Muslim Organizations et’al have all organized free cervical cancer experimentations for women parishioners and members. Dr. Olaleye presented his lectures with slides applications so that the gathering would heavily understand the lectures delivered.

 Speaking to the audience Chartered Accountant Audit and Assurance Manager Mrs. Ayotunde Ogunmuyiwa who handled the topic Savings, Investment and Budgeting Prerequisites to Financial Independence and of a truth she did not disappoint the women who came in their large numbers with her scholarly submission. 

Speaking with Iconblazemagazineonline, the Managing Director, Goonite Hygiene Products FZE, Mr. John Jiang states that the United Nations has in actual fact came out with theme of 2022 IWD “Break The Bias as to celebrate women globally, but, that the CHANCE has also come up with her theme “Gender Equality Today For A Sustainable Tomorrow” adding that women are to be critically cared for at all times. 

He states that women play a very important roles at all times so that the advancement of women globally can be harnessed adding that women are not properly treated well at work places et’al. He states that in their company Goonite Hygiene Product has about 80% of their employees which are women, adding that everybody has a mother, sister, wife, female colleagues, so women are to be tenderly and lovably cared for. He states that his firm is here today to share products with women, products such as Besense Sanitary Pads and Lebrace Baby Diapers adding that they are here to give back to the society, since they manufactured their products in Nigeria. 

He states the Nollywood Actress Destiny Etiko is their Brand Ambassador who runs her own Personal Foundation known as Destiny Etiko Foundation who gets lots of their products which she uses to affect the well being of women. Speaking further with Iconblazemagazineonline, he states that something needs to be done for a sustainable tomorrow adding that today March 8th, 2022 everybody is gathered at the Afe Babalola Hall, University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos to celebrate International Women Day. He states that they need to draw public attention to the values of women in the family and society as women cannot be underestimated or pushed to the gutters. 

He concurs that women are home builders and that they need maximum support from all and sundry. He states that they had decided to unveil a brand ambassador, a respectful, gorgeous, famous, and uncommonly successful Nollywood actress “Destiny Etiko” to help stand as the face of Besense Sanitary Pads and Lebrace Baby Diapers. Speaking with Iconblazemagazineonline, Country Legal Director, Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) Abiodun Peter states that it is a huge opportunity to celebrate all women globally adding the United Nations has chosen a nice and workable theme “Break The Bias for the women so that the issues affecting women negatively would be halted for the benefits of women generally. 

Speaking further she states that all women should pragmatically, effectively, efficiently, assiduously rise up in a positive manner to believe in themselves all the times adding that the women need Love and Unity among themselves so that the equal opportunities offer to men should also be offered to them too. Speaking with Iconblazemagazineonline, the founder of CHANCE Mrs. Saliu states that they gone to do a market outreach for women traders and sweepers done early morning at Bariga Market adding that Gender Equality is not a tea gig or served as alacart to the women, but, that there has to be some workable policies that would heavily favour women in all ramifications. 

She states that 200 women are to be screened today for cervical cancer exercise by the Medical Personnel from the Ministry of Health of Lagos State Government adding that they have good sponsors too numerous to list all of them. Speaking with Iconblazemagazineonline, Bimbo Akintola, an actress states that she is a humanist who believes in women, men, children and aged adding that she is not in the pack of those women who are always in the habit of having brawls with other women if they happen to meet each other at a man’s place, she added that it is very bad of the women having unhealthy brawls between each other, rather, she enthused that the man should be one the girlfriend should have issues with and not the other girl. She gave a nice recipes to women to love themselves uncommonly rather than engaging themselves with conflicts per se. 

Speaking with Iconblazemagazineonline, Hon. Taiwo Abimbola aka Lady B, a deputy speaker of Youth Assembly of Nigeria Lagos (YAN) states that women are home builders, home managers, sweet mothers, dutiful wives to their spouses as such all women should be equally treated with fairness and all that. 

All women that graced the International Women’s Day Celebration received a pack of Besense Sanitary Pads, Lebrace Baby Diapers, Umbrellas et’al from Groonite Manufacturing Company and their company message is “Let’s Make Sense Together”.
