Revamping Our Warped Values Is The Concern of All, Sundry-Dr Lafiaji

Speaking as the Guest Lecturer at the 8^th Ramadan Lecture titled that WAEC is Muslim at the main auditorium Hall of Excellence and Event Centre near WAEC, Ogba, ikeja, Lagos State, Dr. Hanila Sanusi Lafiaji of the Department of Islamic Studies Al-Yikmah University of Ilorin, Kwara State states that revamping our warped values within the society is the concern of all and sundry adding that the old good values that parents employed in the upbringing of their children and wards have suddenly developed wings and flew away into thin air. 

Speaking further to the gathering, he states that the communal life style that existed in the past has disappeared into the thin air adding that, that in the past when communal life existed that everybody child then, those children can run errands for any man or woman within the community. 

He states that every child was known to all parents in the community adding that children of that era respected all elders whether the elders were their parents or not. He states that the old poor parents were the ones that raised their children as professors, Millionaires, Billionaires, Medical Doctors, Journalists, Religion Leaders et’al and sadly he stated that today parents are the ones raising criminals, internet fraudsters, prostitutes, kidnappers, Boko haramists, herdsmen, armed robbers et’al.

He states that the entire society has failed to raise their children properly all because the real values and standards have been misplaced by children who wish to-get-rich quick thereby they involved themselves in all manner of evils. He states that a 16 years old girl was invited by her boyfriend in a particular community in Ogun State and after sleeping with the said 16 years old, the so called boyfriend murdered her wickedly and he got her body dismembered for ritual purposes. He asked if the parents of the murdered girl are watchful and monitoring their children, that girl would not had lost her precious life just like that.

He states that righteousness begat righteousness that people should study the spouses they want to marry because if one marries an evil spouse, their children would also turn out badly. He cited several ways how the children of these days have badly refused to receive instructions and orders from their parents, adding that when he was growing up that he and his siblings woke up 4:30am everyday and that they had to go to the streams to fetch water for the parents about three times before going to school. 

Speaking further to the gathering he states that quality Islamic Education is the basic way of revamping the warped values and standards adding that parents must adequately supervise and monitor their children and wards regularly. He states that husbands should always speak to their spouses with love and the fear of God adding that when spouses live lovably that their children would also grow up to display love to their own spouses et’al. 

He raised many workable values so that the society will be fine. He states that mothers should not form Association of Criminals et’al. He states that people or students should not cheat in an examination halls. When he rounded off his lectures, he was roundly accorded standing ovation. 

Speaking with Iconblazemagazineonline Dr. Amos Dangut Deputy Registra and Zonal Coordinator, West Africa Examination Council (WAEC), Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos states that the muslim 8^th Ramadan Lecture is a good one that would throw more exposes to the audience whom are mostly parents, who would then inculcate good values and standards in their children and adding that the children and the wards should live in the fear of the Almighty Allah. 

Speaking further with Iconblazemagazineonline, Dr. Dangut states that education is the best way of enlightening the society adding that globally Education has brought uncommon successes and developments to those who have obtained it.
