The Social Dance Of Late Elder Aghimien

By Leo Ezekiel

The journey bound of Late Elder Jonathan Obika Aghimien (SAN) did begin on Thursday 9th of June, 2022 with special court  session at the ceremonial Hall of High Court of Justice Complex C’ Benin City and from Sapele Road, the procession moved to Chief Anthony Enaharo Complex, King’s Square, Ring Road, Benin City, Oredo Local Government Area for the honourable members of Edo State House of Assembly to honour the last remains of Elder Aghimien who in the year 1983  October-December was a law maker and majority leader who represented Orhamwuon East Federal Constituency in the then Bendel State House of Assembly and at the floor of the Edo State House of Assembly at the floor of Edo State House of Assembly the Rt. Hon. Deputy Speaker Hon. Roland Asoro and his colleagues pragmatically showered undiluted tributes for elder Aghimien and finally the train moved to Edo hotel G.R.A, Benin City for the service of songs which his Church New Covenant Gospel Church held in his honour and after the said service of songs the last remains of Elder Aghimien were laid to rest unto mother earth at his country home in Benin City.

The funeral traditional rites were held at his country home Igbanke in Orhionmwon East Federal Constituency and of a truth the Funeral rites turned to be a Carnival of sort because their children provided all the needed materials for funeral rites.

The social dance took place at Edo G.R.A, Benin City with Chief Felix O. Ogebkile the Ambassador of music and also the treasurer PMAM, Delta State, who pleasantly and melodiously dished out good dancing music for the Children of Elder Aghimien and the audience to celebrate the Ordained Elder and Member, Board of Trustees, Board of Trustees of New Covenant Gospel Church, Benin City 1992 (30 years) till his passing on eternal glory.

And of a truth Chief Ogbekili did not disappoint the audience with his stage performances, Palmer Omoruyi and her Victorious Gospel Band also added colourations to the social dance held in honour of a Legal luminary of uncommon services of humanity. His children actually danced their hearts for their father.

Dr. Emmanuel Aghimien the heir apparent to the dynasty of Elder Aghimien pleasantly appreciated all and sundry in his Vote of Thanks. The Thanksgiving service is held at the New Covenant Gospel Church.
