THE COMMENDATION SERVICE IN HONOUR OF PROF. EMERITUS OSHODIN

The Akin Debo Auditorium, Ugbowo Campus, University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State the venue where the commendation service in honour of Professor Emeritus Osayuki Godwin Oshodin JP is held and over 5000 persons do graciously attended the said commendation service in his honour as his former colleagues did pay him their last respects and homage.
Speaking to the gathering Dean of Education, University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State Prof. Kingsley Omorogiuwa read out a heavily researched oration on emeritus Prof. Oshodin to the uncommon audience. In this same vein the Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Benin City, Prof. Lilian Salami did render her own oration on the 8th substantive Vice Chancellor of University of Benin (Nov, 2009-Nov, 2014) and as well as the very first Benin son to hold the uncommon position since the inception of the Tertiary Education facility (since 1970). In their Oration they both stated all the bridges of infrastructural developments the emeritus Prof. Oshodin did while he served as the administrator of the University.
Speaking to the audience with his sermon the Engineer, Lawyer, Banker, Theologian Chaplain Venerable Osazee Egbenusi titled his sermon (I Shall Die Righteously). He narrated a very touching story that he met with some politicians who have succeeded in life by all standards and they were over four scores of ages. He said these politicians earnestly asked him to pray for them and he states that he thought of prayer points he would raise for them because they have already climbed up into old age and they have already amassed uncommon wealth and finally they looked very healthy.
Speaking with iconblazemagazineonline at the Rev. Emokpae Memorial Baptist Church, Baptist Mission Way, Etete, Benin City at the service of songs a worker at the security department of the University of Benin, Benin City Noren Uwaifo states that Prof. Oshodin was a father to all and sundry adding that he did employ him as a staff at the security department and he also added that Prof. Oshodin cleared up the backlog of arrears he inherited when he assumed duty as the Vice Chancellor of University of Benin. Uwaifo states that Prof. Oshodin was too transparent in his dealings with contractors as there were no arm twisting in the executions of the contracts awarded adding that the entire nation and indeed the global space shall miss him eternally.
Speaking with iconblazemagazineonline President Edo Baptist Conference of the Nigerian Baptist Convention and Chairman Christian Council of Nigeria Edo State Revd. Osahon Igbinidu JP states that Prof. Emeritus Oshodin was really a man who gave his service for God and mankind most especially at the Rev. Emokpae Memorial Baptist Church and as well as when he was the 8th substantive Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria where he did render his expertise to the University community and the entire global space adding that the Prof. Emeritus Oshodin provided bread and butter on many persons table vide employing them as workers at all levels at the University of Benin.
He states again
that Prof. Emeritus Oshodin was a trailblazer in the affairs of Benin
Traditional Council (BTC) at the King Square Oba, Ewuare II Palace et’al. Prof.
Emeritus Oshodin was born on 9th August 1950 and he passed on 29th
May, 2022 at 71 years old of uncommonly fulfilled life.
