GIZ, Edo Global Art Foundation Giving Meaningful Trainings to Young Person- Hon. Prince Obaitan

Speaking to the gathering at Professor and Sir Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, Airport Road, Benin City, Edo State the Commissioner for Arts, Culture, Tourism and Diaspora Affairs for Edo State Hon. Prince Bamidele Obaitan states that GIZ and Edo Global Art Foundation are jointly giving meaningful trainings to young persons to learn the arts and skills of painting and sculpture adding that both GIZ and Edo Global Art Foundation have presented a four day events to the general public which kicked off on 29th September, 2022 and to round off on 2nd October, 2022. 

Speaking further the Hon. Prince Obaitan states that the theme of the GIZ and Edo Global Art Foundation “Made in Nigeria Art Master Class: Painting and Sculpture Exhibition” adding that the State Government under watch of Mr. Godwin Obaseki had launched a master plan for Tourism loops for the Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and diaspora Affairs and the entire general public. He further stated that the GIZ and Edo Global Art Foundation would collaborate with the Ministry in giving adequate and meaningful trainings to learning to showcase their God giving talents. Speaking to the audience the Team Leader GIZ Programme Migration for Development in Nigeria.

Sandra Venmuijiten says that in Nigeria the PME Programme has established a structure for Migration and Reintegration (NGC) provides support and one-on-one advice on employment, business, vocational and educational perspectives in Nigeria adding that the support is intended for both returnees who need help with their social and economic reintegration and as well as for local persons seeking to improve their career prospects. Speaking further she says that PME works in close partnership with Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment of Nigeria adding that their affinity to skills development and the improvement of income generating opportunities for youths and as well as their appreciation for arts and culture in Nigeria are the motivation for PME to collaborate with Edo Global Art Foundation in Benin-City. 

She says that they are very pleased with the successful completion of the third round of online arts competition made in Nigeria aimed at supporting emerging art talents adducing that the first edition did take place in Lagos in 2021 followed by Abuja and now Benin-City 2022. Speaking to the audience Creative Director of Nosona Studios and Edo Global Art Foundation Enotie Ogbebor states that their creative hub was established in Benin City in 2016 adding that they very grateful for the opportunity to continue imparting knowledge to early career artists and he also added that the trip continues as they value the feedback from the artists and the general public and as well as they prepare to exhibit the works created during the five days’ workshop. 


Speaking further he says that they look forward to more collaborations to continue the development of creative arts in a positive way as they thank all their facilitators especially the management and staff of GIZ most especially Venmuijiten, Team Leader PME Nigeria for her extraordinary dedication to empowering young Nigerians Creatives and as well as Eseosa Okuku Edo State Coordinator, PME whose support made the programme a huge success. Speaking with Iconblazemagazineonline Pharm Ojo Clinton Edokpayi a pan Africanist and as well as a lover of arts and creative curator with Edo Global Art Foundation states that made in Nigeria Art master class, painting and sculpture exhibition is a beautiful one as both GIZ and Edo Global Art Foundation adding that this is kind of event they have been clamouring for as art lovers, as Nigerians and as well as Africans at large that are talented should showcase  their skills because it is a tiny line that separates  people from realizing their God given gifts. 

He says that lots of people just do not know what to do with their God given gift judging from the decimations received for the poor economic of the land as well as in Africa as people do not get White collar jobs as in the past. 


He says that in the past, people lived with their gifts because their gifts are their professions such people are the persons they have come to encourage by putting the programme together adding that their works are very much expressive, beautiful and authentic and as well as looking at the Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Diaspora Affairs with the dynamic leadership of Hon Commissioner Prince Obaitan who is the eye of the state governor Mr. Obaseki and that he is very much happy how they work with Global Arts and he says that he is happy to be part of the event.
