South West HCD Regional Conference

The governments of South West regions have pleasantly and uncommonly organized a two days Human Capital Development with the theme “From Plan to Action Push For Human Capital Development at Marriot Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, day one witnessed the technical session where many egg heads contributed their lucid and cerebral ideas as how the Human Capital Development should be implemented in the south west regions. 

Speaking to the audience the Statistician General of the Federation Prince Adediran states that the Human Capital Development dwells on the three thematic areas of Health and Nutrition, Education and labour force adding that when a new born child is brought into the world by their parents and that as little children that they need proper health care facilities to adequately take care of developmental growth. 

Speaking further to the gathering he states that when the child survives all forms of health challenges that the next thing is that child engages is to begin a formal education where the child would be objectively taught all there is to know with the educational trainings. 

He tells the audience that once the child is fully and properly schooled that the next thing to do is to look for employment through the labour force and that once the employment is secured that the child would be contributing to the growth of Gross Domestic Products GDP of the regions and federation at large. The technical session witnessed a break out session where issues on Health and Nutrition, Education and Labour Force and of a truth the break out session added uncommon colours to the conference. 

The technical session also witnessed a panel dissuasion dwelling on the theme of the conference and of a truth the panelists did not disappoint the eclatic audience with their intelligent and brilliant view points. As the conference continues the next day, Thursday, November 24th, 2022 many speakers rendered various viewpoints as how the governments of south West Regions should pragmatically deploy more funds to the Ministries of Health Care Sector, Education and Labour and Productivity so that proper human capital development could be powerfully achieved. Speaking to the gathering with good will messages the following bodies delivered their good will messages and these good will messages are given out by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, World Bank Group, Aliko Dangote Foundation, UNICF and FCDO and of a truth these groups honestly delivered inspiring goodwill messages to the governments of South West Regions. 

Speaking to the eclatic gathering His Excellency Deputy Governor of Lagos State and also the Chairman, Lagos HCD Council Dr Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat who also stood in for the Executive Governor Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo Olu deftly narrated to the audience how much the government of Lagos State has fared with the Human Capital Development adding that Lagos State has actually raised the bars of progresses in the thematic areas. 

The Governor of Ondo State also known as sunshine state, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN and as well as Chairman, South West Governors’ Forum is represented by his Deputy Governor His Excellency Dr Lucky Adeatau who is also the Chairman Steering Committee HCD Ondo State. 

Speaking to the audience he says that his State has pragmatically and progressively done well in the areas of HCD adding that there are still to be done to pull the State from all manner of Human Capital Development decline. The Governor of Oyo State His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde is represented by his SSG Mrs Olubamawo Adeosun who clearly and loudly informed the audience that her State has figuratively progressed nicely in the areas of HCD applications adding that from the good will messages delivered that they have learnt lots of areas that need to be improved for the public good of the citizenry. 

The Executive Governor of Ogun State Prince Dapo Abiodun is represented by his Honourable Commissioner of Budget and Economic Planning Olaolu Olaitan who pleasantly concurred that his State (Ogun) has in actual sense done well in the areas of Health and Nutrition, Education and Labour Force, but, that there are still rooms for objective improvements in making life more habitable for all and sundry. 

The Policy Recommendations of HCD Technical Sessions Miss Yosola Akinbi and Dr. Olumide did take time and heavily reminded the State actors what that are needed to be done by them so that, the welfare of the citizenry could be achieved in due course. 

The Permanent Secretary of the Sustainable Development Goals, (SDGs) Mrs Abosede George thanked all and sundry that contributed meaningfully to the huge successes the Human Capital Development in Nigeria of South West HCD Regional Conference recorded.
