SANWO OLU LAUNCHES SDGS CLUB IN LAGOS PUBLIC SCHOOLS

The Executive Governor of Lagos State Mr. BABAJIDE Olusola SanwoOlu, has pleasantly and pragmatically launched Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS) club in Lagos public schools at Adeyemi Bero Auditorium Hall, Secretariat, Alausa Ikeja, Lagos. 

The launching of SDGS club in Lagos public schools gathered all the students, their teachers, parents, principals, tutors Generals of the six units of the entire Lagos State at the launching exercise etc. The students entertained the audience with different stage drama and craft’s presentations among the school that acted their highly cerebral drama is Oshodi Comprehensive High School Oshodi, Lagos whose messages dwelled on child abuse, child violence, child labor etc. 

Speaking to the gathering the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Mrs. Folashade Jaji states that learning should be made available to all persons as she adduces that education teaches learners how life is to be run in future. Speaking further she enthuses that state government under the amiable watch of Mr. Governor SanwoOlu wants to catch the young person’s early with high discipline and industry adding that parents should allow their children to go to school. 

Speaking to the audience the Permanent Secretary (PS) in the Ministry of Education Mr. Abayomi Abolaji states that SDGS in Lagos public schools with all the SDGS from goal one to goal 17 demonstrates that the future begins now adding that they live in the world where so many children of school age are out of schools which he regrettably concurs that it is really dangerous to the children themselves and entire society. Speaking further Mr. Abolaji concurs that Education is a way of life as they said Education makes them total human being in the nearest future. 

Speaking to the gathering the Special Adviser to the Governor SanwoOlu on SDGS Solape Hammond states that the Launching of the SDGS club in Lagos public schools has actually come at the right time adding that the THEMES Agenda captures all Inclusive of Educating all the  children in the state for a better and healthy growth of the state, Federation and the globe at large. 

Speaking to the gathering the Permanent Secretary (PS) at the SDGS office Mrs. Abosede George states that issues of launching of SDGS club in Lagos public schools has taken the agencies concerned so many journeys and meetings with which  formal launching of the SDGS club which will pragmatically, assiduously and tenaciously pursued the goal one to goal 17.

 Speaking further she says that the club shall be sustained for as long as the 2030 mark of SDGS still functions optimally. Isheri Senior Secondary School, Isheri , Lagos emerged overall winner with a prize tag of ₦50,000.00 and laptop and other schools won various prizes and laptops.
