OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT: CORRUPTION, INJUSTICE, UNFAIRNESS AT NNPC LIMITED

Firstly, congratulations to you His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu the Executive President of the Republic for your inauguration exercise that took place recently on May 29th, 2023. Your Excellency, Mr. President I really want to bring to your notice of Corruption, Injustice and Unfairness at the Northern Nigeria Petroleum Company, Sorry Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC). 

Out of the Eight (8) members of the Senior Management Team (SMT) Six (6) of them are Northerners. These include the Six (6) Executive Vice President (EVP) and no South East Executive Vice President (EVP) at NNPC Ltd despite the Board Chairman Mrs. Okadigbo and one Henry Obi are on the Board of NNPC Ltd and as well as they are from the South East. Your Excellency all the viable Strategic Business Units (SBU) are wholly manned by Northerners for example Trading, NAPMS, NPDC, NRL et’al. And, again, most of the viable assets (OMLS) at NPDC are occupied by the Northerners. 


The GCEO in the last One (1) year has carried out “ILLEGAL RECRUITMENT OF STAFF INTO NNPC LTD”. The GCEO has ensured that his man Fridays are appointed to man the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulations Commission (NUPRC) and the Nigerian Midstream, Downstream Petroleum Regulation Authority (NMDPA). And, again, Nue Oil Energy Ltd was only registered on March 9th, 2022 with a share capital of One Million and bought 100% shares in OVH Energy Marketing Ltd and ASPM Ltd from OVH Energy, BV, a joint Venture between Vitol and Helios In September, 2022. 

In the same September, 2022, NNPC Ltd acquired those assets from Nue Oil a company with only two (2) Directors Dagazan Mumuni Chief Operating Officer OVH and Shanono Sharif Zailani, River Brand Energy Ltd. The GCEO has instated that the of OVH take over the management of NNPC Retail Ltd, for reasons best known to him. Your Excellency, please these issues I have pragmatically raised should be critically looked into because Nigeria National Petroleum Company Ltd should not be banded Northern Nigeria Petroleum Company Ltd.
